The ratings are in for the first day of the Democratic House Managers impeachment arguments in front of the Senate, and the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS and NBC) collectively lost about three million viewers who would have been expected to watch their normal fare of daytime soap operas.

The NBC sitcom Perfect Harmony can be a charming show that often shows a positive, loving image of rural Christian churchgoers. While the show also goes off-key at times in its portrayal of rural Christians, it has steered clear of pushing contemporary sexual agendas.

In the past, the middling NBC sitcom Superstore has compared an employer asking for a social security card to 'Nazi Germany' and regularly "winked" at the hiring of an illegal immigrant named Mateo. The show pushed the immigration envelope again this week, in the episode "Favoritism," on January 23.    

In their Thursday evening reports on the Senate impeachment trial, both CBS and NBC marveled and touted the work of Democratic prosecutors. During a mid-afternoon break in the Senate impeachment trial on Thursday, both NBC and ABC brought on 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar for softball interviews. Anchors urged the Minnesota Senator to put pressure on her GOP colleagues to vote for witnesses and drag out the proceedings.

Hours before the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump began on Tuesday, NBC’s Today show seized on “outraged” Democrats preemptively trashing the proceeding as a “national disgrace” and blasting the rules proposed by Republicans. The broadcast dutifully parroted those talking points despite the slipshod manner in which liberal lawmakers conducted impeachment in the House.

In spite of the fact that the gun rights rally in Richmond, Virginia on Monday saw absolutely zero violent incidents, both ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News saw fit to taint their reports on the event with images from the Charlottesville, Virginia violence where white nationalists and left-wing protesters clashed.

On Saturday, NBC’s Today show actually devoted an entire report to how voters in key swing states were suffering from “impeachment fatigue.” The segment highlighted “concerned” Democrats fearing the attempted removal of President Trump from office was “overshadowing” the 2020 campaign, while Republicans were found to be more energized heading into the election.

The day before the pro-Second Amendment rally in Richmond, Virginia, one NBC reporter was already calling the event a “white nationalist rally.” Sunday, reporter Ben Collins warned his media colleagues to be aware of “neo-Nazi propaganda” at this “white nationalist rally” and to make sure they were’t reporting on “made-up stuff.”

All three networks were eager to equate gun rights advocates to neo-Nazis on Monday morning’s broadcasts. While tens of thousands of people are expected to arrive at Virginia’s Capitol building this afternoon to protest the state’s proposed anti-gun laws, reporters from ABC, NBC and CBS tried to compare the Second Amendment rally to the much smaller rally in Charlottesville in 2017 attended by…
