On the Sunday editions of ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News, the liberal networks were grossly giddy in touting partisan protests against President Trump and joining them in opposing Trump’s desire to crackdown on crime in Chicago, hoping the city remains quiet.

A common feature of legacy media coverage leading up to the 2024 presidential campaign was their collective reluctance and/or outright refusal to cover heinous crimes that reflected poorly on key Democrat policies. With the 2026 midterms over a year out, it appears that the media are reverting to form. 

As is often the case with legacy newscasts, an item reported with great fanfare becomes discarded once it is no longer useful to a narrative. Such is the case with details of what was seized during last week’s raid of John Bolton’s home.

Anyone depending on legacy network news for coverage of China’s military parade, honoring the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, might have thought they were watching Chinese state media. Among these, CBS was the most effusive in their ChiCom suck-uppery.

The Trump economy just keeps defying all the media crystal ball predictions of economic catastrophe, but the evening networks revealed an impulse to ignore good news that benefits the president.

A full day after the horrific Minneapolis church shooting, the legacy newscasts were mostly trying to render the shooter into an afterthought. But, when forced to mention him in any meaningful way, they continued to adhere to liberal orthodoxy and refer to him by his preferred pronouns.

In what appears to be a perverse “don’t say transgender challenge”, the legacy newscasts went out of their way to mention that the coward who entered into the Annunciation Catholic Church and opened fire on an ongoing Mass was in fact a transgender individual. The networks were equally circumspect about divulging the shooter’s motives.

The legacy evening newscasts made an awful editorial choice tonight. Faced with a decision to spotlight families of our fallen service members or continue to cast “Maryland Dad” Kilmar Abrego García as a victim, they chose the latter.

There was quite the revealing moment during the panel discussion on today’s This Week on ABC. In the midst of a discussion on crime in Washington, D.C., host Jon Karl could not bring himself to recognize that Democrats are on the wrong side of an 80-20 issue (crime), instead shifting blame to a familiar boogeyman.

One time-tested way to examine media bias is to see if the media label any indicted Democrat official as a Democrat. But with President Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Washington, D.C., highlighting blue city mismanagement, over ABC, CBS, and NBC’s Friday evening and Saturday morning shows, only CBS passed the test of identifying New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell as a Democrat, and…

At long last, a legacy network newscast mentioned the post-2016 intelligence assessment on Russian election interference that is the subject of the explosive declassified document publication by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Unfortunately, the mention was not in reference to these revelations, but in continued service of the now amply debunked Russian Collusion Hoax.

In what is now a clear and unmistakable pattern, the legacy evening newscasts have suppressed any mention of the latest release of formerly classified documents related to the Russia Hoax by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. The latest release further exposes a media favorite.

“Politics is downstream from culture”, we were often told by the late, great Andrew Breitbart. And I often wonder what he’d think about the legacy media as they cover President Donald Trump’s efforts to leave his own mark on that equation. If NBC’s coverage about this year’s Kennedy Center Honors is any indication, then Trump may have succeeded.
