Following a full report on Monday’s Today show denouncing President Trump’s criticism of Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings, fill-in co-host and NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt fretted that Trump had a new target: “Hallie, the President’s also going after longtime civil rights advocate Al Sharpton this morning. Do we know why?”

On Monday's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough repeatedly referred to Congressman John Ratcliffe as a "clown." But that wasn't contemptuous enough for Joe. And so Scarborough also suggested that President Trump's nominee as Director of National Intelligence be called a "fascist," and proceeded to do so time and again. Scarborough justified his slur by claiming that during the Mueller hearings last week…

In a segment dubbed “could it happen here”, Deutsch again played around with the idea that Trump was constructing Nazi Germany in our own backyards. “During last week's show two days after Trump's harrowing North Carolina rally, lowlighted by racial chants of ‘send her back’, we posed the question: Could it happen here? It’s nine days later and we're still asking the question,” he announced.

On AM Joy, Malcolm Nance tells Joy Reid that "this could be the last free and fair election in American history" because of manipulation of the results by a foreign "cabal."

The attack dog tone of journalists in the Trump era might make you forget a time when they gushed over another president, the previous one. Chris Matthews famously had a “thrill” up his leg over Barack Obama, but that wasn’t the only example of hailing the Democrat. Four years ago this week, on July 22, 2015, Matthews defended the “immaculate” Obama and his “perfect” family. 

With an embarrassing technical problem to boot, MSNBC’s Hardball featured on Thursday night an irascible host Chris Matthews nagging House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) to fulfill the wishes of his constituents (which includes CNN and other media organizations in dark-blue Manhattan) to see through “this unstoppable push” for impeachment.

The media, MSNBC in particular, appear desperate to salvage what little remains of their reputation by trying to insist that Robert Mueller's Wednesday testimony was not a complete dud. On her Friday show, Andrea Mitchell tried to argue that despite the lack of any new revelations, Mueller's testimony was "pretty devastating" for Trump.

If there was an award for most unhinged journalist of the Trump era, it would undoubtedly go to Donny Deutsch. The MSNBC contributor and host of poorly-rated Saturday Night Politics has embraced the politics of gaslighting in the Trump era like few other cable news pundits.

In an extended rant, Joe Scarborough calls Mitch McConnell "Moscow Mitch" no fewer than 14 times, with sidekick Donny Deutsch using the phrase twice.  Scarborough was angered that McConnell had blocked two partisan Democrat bills ostensibly seeking to promote "election security" in light of past and possible future Russian attempts to interfere with US elections. 

In the inevitable Hitler-in-the-bunker video parody created after Special Counsel Robert Mueller's surreal testimony before Congress yesterday, one of the characters consoles a weeping comrade by saying, "Just wait for Rachel Maddow. She'll know what to do." Exactly the advice you'd expect from a committed socialist.

As our friends at the Washington Examiner and Washington Free Beacon have reported, former MSNBC host Krystal Ball eviscerated her former employer MSNBC during The Hill TV’s Rising by comparing them to Infowars for their breathlessly deranged coverage of the “feverish Russian conspiracy theories,” suggesting the Mueller hearing would resonate in middle America, and not showing accountability.

MSNBC's Jacob Soboroff and Katy Tur have a new docuseries coming out this Sunday on MSNBC entitled American Swamp where the two lament the influence of money and special interests in politics. They joined Stephanie Ruhle on Wednesday's MSNBC Live to discuss the series, where in the midst of decrying certain special interests ended up hyping other special interests.

Wednesday night after the much anticipated Mueller hearings, MSNBC hosts scrambled to make something new of the testimony. In spite of their bests efforts, nothing they didn’t already know had presented itself. Lawrence O’Donnell and Rachel Maddow decided that in order to really understand the situation, Mueller’s staff also need to testify. Yes, that’s right: More hearings.

On MTP Daily Wednesday evening, Trump-deranged host Chuck Todd commiserated with fellow liberal MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell over Robert Mueller’s testimony before Congress. Mitchell sadly conceded that this whole Russia investigation was probably finally over, but she couldn’t help but take swings at “shameful” Republicans while expressing her disappointment.
