Despite a four-hour running time, NBC’s Today on Thursday skipped any mention of the latest on the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal. CBS This Morning managed 25 seconds. ABC, NBC and CBS on Thursday immediately pounced on a tweet by Ruper Murdoch in which the Fox News chairman suggested that Ben Carson would be America’s first “real” black president. These same networks stayed silent this week after a major college professor smeared Carson by calling him a “coon.” 

The outraged journalists at NBC, ABC and CBS on Wednesday slammed the “controversial,” “beyond insensitive” Ben Carson for his comments about last week’s mass shooting in Oregon. Their anger provides a strong contrast to controversial statements by Hillary Clinton in recent days. ABC and NBC on Sunday and Monday fawned over the “hilarious,” "spontaneous” Hillary Clinton appearance on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. As though she were blurbing a movie, Good Morning America’s Cecilia Vega on Monday cheered, “It is the new, spontaneous Hillary Clinton who hopes to be laughing all the way to the White House.” 

For several days, the Today show has been hyping a special edition show that would feature Hillary Clinton for what NBC has promoted as “Pancakes & Politics: A Town Hall With Hillary Clinton.”  If the October 5 program is anything like ABC’s campaign 2008 town halls, it will be heavily stilted towards Democratic talking points. 

The journalists on the Today show, Friday, touted how “emotional” Barack Obama became in his push for more gun control. In the wake of a mass shooting in Oregon, Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie cited statistics from liberal organizations and allowed no conservative, pro-Second Amendment voices to appear on the show. 

Good Morning America’s Tom Llamas, a vocal critic of Donald Trump, on Wednesday touted Bill Clinton’s defense of his wife against the candidate. Llamas narrated, “He's back. Former President Bill Clinton making the rounds and the case why his wife should be president, defending Hillary from one of her harshest critics.” 

On Wednesday, the State Department will release 6,000 more pages of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails but NBC’s Today was the only network morning show to cover this news whereas ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning ignored the story altogether. In a full report, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell stressed that the e-mail release was a result of a “court order” which will continue the “drip, drip, drip…

All three networks on Tuesday hyped Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards appearing before Congress, insisting the pro-abortion leader will “staunchly defend” her organization in the wake of the sting videos. During the news briefs, ABC and CBS didn’t show any of hidden videos. 

On Sunday’s Good Morning America, ABC’s Paula Faris previewed This Week with fill-in host Martha Raddatz and the two did their best to lament the fact that Hillary Clinton has been unable to overcome the ongoing problems involving her use of a private e-mail server. 

On Saturday morning, the major broadcast networks were at it again in bashing the “far-right” and “unruly hardliners” in the House Republican caucus for causing Speaker John Boehner’s impending resignation announced Friday that CBS added could hurt the party’s chances in 2016 if the “infighting” continues.
