ABC and NBC on Monday night and Tuesday morning ignored what is being described as a “big setback” for ObamaCare, completely skipping the fact that insurance giant Aetna will reduce by two thirds its involvement in the President’s health care plan. This absence is despite a combined six hours of air time over the two days. 

Despite serious legal and ethical questions being raised about the Clinton Foundation having high-level access to Hillary Clinton’s State Department while accepting large foreign donations, a CNN report on Thursday revealed that the Obama Justice Department squashed an FBI investigation into the matter. So far, the broadcast networks have censored any mention of the growing scandal.

On Thursday, the three network morning shows were more interested in a man climbing Trump Tower in New York City than the latest revelations in Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal. CBS and ABC journalists on Tuesday and Wednesday fawned over the “primal” scream actress Meryl Streep gave at the Democratic National Convention last month. Appearing on CBS This Morning, Wednesday, the movie star explained her pro-Hillary Clinton speech, saying, “I felt it was a moment in history and I felt like I was surfing this huge wave of wonderfulness.” 

The journalists on ABC and CBS came up with different conclusions to the fact that Hillary Clinton has been avoiding the press. It’s now been 248 days since she held a formal news conference. On CBS This Morning, Bob Schieffer conceded it “would be good” for the Democrat to talk to the reporters. However, Good Morning America’s Matt Dowd flat-out advised Clinton to stay quiet.

Rather than hold the current president accountable for his highly questionable statements on the scandal, the broadcasts instead chose to hammer presidential candidate Donald Trump over a gaffe he made while reacting to the controversy.

While both NBC’s Today and CBS This Morning devoted full reports to The Wall Street Journal exposing the Obama administration secretly paying a $400 million ransom in cash to Iran to secure the release of American hostages, ABC’s Good Morning America only managed two news briefs on the topic that amounted to less than a minute of air time.

For the second day in a row, NBC on Wednesday ignored the high level firings at the Democratic National Committee. Politico hyped it as “heads roll at the DNC.” Yet, the four hour-long Today show found no time for it. Instead, reporter Hallie Jackson trumpeted a “civil war” within the Republican Party.
