Despite repeatedly calling it “unconfirmed” and “unsubstantiated,” the ABC, CBS and NBC morning news shows on Wednesday spent a combined 44 minutes promoting allegations the Russian government had information that they could use to blackmail President-elect Donald Trump. These allegations stemmed from a 35-page “report” published by BuzzFeed, which itself doubted the veracity of the information.

Following fawning network coverage of President Obama’s farewell address on Tuesday night, on Wednesday, the NBC, ABC, and CBS morning shows continued the lovefest by devoting another 16 minutes and 5 seconds of air time to the speech. That stands in stunning contrast to the paltry 55 seconds the same morning shows offered to then-President George W. Bush’s farewell address in 2009.

Wednesday’s Good Morning America had anchor George Stephanopoulos struggling to regain control of the interview after Trump’s senior advisor Kellyanne Conway called the media out for for their pro-Clinton bias. On Tuesday, the network morning shows were thrilled by the prospect of Democratic lawmakers testifying against Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions during the confirmation hearing for the Donald Trump cabinet pick. However, none of the broadcasts bothered to recall that those same Democrats once eagerly worked with the Alabama senator on civil rights issues.

On Monday, all three network morning shows parroted Democrats’ complaints that confirmation hearings for Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees were being scheduled at too fast a pace and promoted fears that the President-elect’s picks may be plagued by scandals that had yet to be discovered.

All three networks on Monday eagerly hyped liberal celebrities trashing Donald Trump at Sunday night’s Golden Globes awards. ABC’s Good Morning America actually led the show with Meryl Streep bashing the President-elect. The Today show waited until five minutes into the program. The hosts at CBS This Morning restrained themselves until 7:06am ET. 

It seems like the line between journalists and politicians is always growing finer. According to the Texas Tribune, ABC News’ Chief Political Analyst Matthew Dowd is ”thinking” about running for Texas Senate as an Independent challenger to Ted Cruz. He told the Tribune that he has been approached by both Republicans and Democrats to run.

CBS This Morning and ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday awoke to the concept that maybe Russia didn’t cause Hillary Clinton to lose the presidential election. CBS co-host Norah O’Donnell observed, “It’s true, actually, that the Clinton campaign spent more money in Georgia and Arizona  than Wisconsin and Michigan. That's a fact.” 

On Thursday, ABC and NBC aired their first reports on the beyond disturbing Facebook video of a racially-tinged attack by African American young adults on a mentally-disabled white man in Chicago. Good Morning America and Today, along with CBS This Morning, aired full reports on the heinous kidnapping and torture. All three network morning shows on Thursday were eager to promote Democrats blasting Republicans over the planned repeal of ObamaCare, advancing accusations from liberal lawmakers that the GOP would “Make America Sick Again” and create “chaos” in the health care system.
