During a report questioning President Trump’s “mental fitness” on Friday’s CBS This Morning, Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook also smeared Ronald Reagan by promoting a disproved conspiracy theory about the 40th president’s health: “And there are questions about whether Ronald Reagan had symptoms of Alzheimer’s while in office.”  

CBS This Morning co-host Norah O’Donnell on Friday pestered veteran journalist Bob Schieffer about Donald Trump’s “mental fitness” and encouraged the veteran reporter to tout the gossipy book by Michael Wolff. Asked about the error-filled tome, Scheiffer praised, “ I think he really nailed the chaos in the White House. And I think he was right on.”

CBS journalists, who have downplayed the problem of illegal immigration, on Thursday chose the sympathetic story of DACA medical school student Dreamers. The on-screen graphic for the segment read, “Dream in Jeopardy.” Co-host Norah O’Donnell introduced reporter Adrianna Diaz as “outside of Chicago where a group of future doctors is watching the DACA debate very nervously.” 

On Wednesday, a federal judge from the radical Ninth Circuit issued an injunction blocking the White House from reversing the Obama-era executive order that created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). CBS REALLY loves The Post. The journalists at CBS This Morning have now devoted 20 minutes and 48 seconds over the last month to promoting the Vietnam-era film about The Washington Post’s efforts to publish the Pentagon Papers. Unsurprisingly, the hosts at CBS really enjoy a movie that touts “non-partisan” reporters as “heroes” for exposing a Republican president. 

The Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks engaged in a feeding frenzy over Michael Wolff’s gossip-filled book, as they ate up the salacious details in Fire and Fury. From January 3 through January 9, the networks stuffed their evening and morning programs with over two hours of coverage of the Wolff book and the subsequent fallout for former Donald Trump aide Stephen Bannon. 

A weaker than expected jobs report managed to capture the attention of the three broadcast networks evening newscasts. That was quite a switch.Those same news programs often underreported good economic news in the past year. ABC World News skipped reporting the jobs report four times in 2017.

In an interview with Trump-bashing author Michael Wolff on Monday’s CBS Late Show, aired early Tuesday morning, even left-wing comedian Stephen Colbert was skeptical of the truthfulness of the unsubstantiated tell-all book. The late-night host urged Wolff to release tape recordings of his discussions with White House staffers to address credibility problems.

CBS on Tuesday announced that John Dickerson will be taking over as co-host of CBS This Morning, replacing the disgraced Charlie Rose. Rose, when he wasn’t allegedly sexually harassing women, offered sycophantic liberal spin. Dickerson, in contrast might provide more balance than that as he’s conceded liberal bias on at least four separate occasions.

On Monday night, CBS News seemed eager to start their 2020 presidential campaign coverage as they led CBS Evening News with a segment hyping a theoretical campaign run by Oprah Winfrey. “‘We welcome the challenge. Whether it's Oprah Winfrey or anybody else.’ That was the reaction from the White House today after a widely discussed speech at the Golden Globes last night,” touted anchor Jeff Glor.…

On Monday, the three network morning shows were in ecstasy over Oprah Winfrey’s Golden Globes acceptance speech and already predicting a 2020 presidential run for the former daytime talk show host. Anchors and correspondents seemed to be trying to outdo one another in who could heap more sycophantic praise on the liberal entertainer.
