As the recall race in California heads into its final days, the contrast on the ABC and CBS morning shows couldn’t be more stark. ABC’s Good Morning America cheered tired, Democratic hacks coming in to rescue Gavin Newsom as the “cavalry” and the “heaviest hitters” arriving. CBS This Morning, by contrast, hit the “hypocrisy” and “elitism” of Newsom.

CBS Mornings, a show that has demanded panic over climate change, suggesting the Day After Tomorrow-style doom was coming, that the Covid pandemic might be preferable, on Thursday discovered, oops, maybe we could “reverse climate change.”

The big three networks this morning didn’t seem to care that a black man running for office was assaulted by a white woman in a gorilla mask yesterday. Probably because that man was conservative radio host, Larry Elder, running for governor in the blue state of California.

Wednesday’s network morning shows were thrilled that President Biden was trying to exploit a deadly natural disaster in order to sell his radical political agenda that would waste trillions of taxpayer dollars. Rather that challenge any of Biden’s fearmongering rhetoric, the CBS, ABC, and NBC broadcasts all touted it as if it were a statement of fact.
