What’s Univision’s new pitch regarding illegal immigration? If you follow a three-minute report led by anchor Jorge Ramos, it is to entice immigrants into crossing illegally into the United States from the North which, according to him, is easier, cheaper and safer.

A revered commander, a military hero, a religious, loving man of the people. That's how the nation ́s Spanish-speaking liberal media is portraying Iranian terrorist Qasem Soleimani who as you’ll recall was killed last week under the orders of President Donald Trump: an act that, in the words of a Univision reporter, “has infuriated” Iranians.

The drums of war continue to beat on Telemundo. NBC’s Spanish-language sister affiliate, fresh from yesterday’s scaremongering, sought a victim for today’s “impact on the families” story, ahead of potential troop movements to the Middle East. But they got a lot more than what they expected.

The coverage accorded to formerly-alive IRGC commander Qassem Soleimani by the mainstream media mirrors that given to former Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán. That is, reverential to the point of elegy. And as Telemundo shows, a willingness to parrot the regime’s talking points.

In a cheap play for the sympathy of their female audience, Telemundo featured a report on the so-called “Three Comadres of Impeachment” -the three Hispanic congresswomen on the House Judiciary Committee. 

Following mainstream liberal media’s lead, Telemundo injected a massive dose of pro-Democrat histrionics to their coverage of the impeachment proceedings- vilifying anything related to President Trump while sanctifying the Democrats, and Nancy Pelosi in particular. 

Univision’s senior anchor Jorge Ramos is known for opposing most, if not all, enforcement of the U.S. southern border as part of part of the nation’s immigration policy. His most recent episode on Facebook Watch makes clear that enforcement of the northern border is off limits, too.

What does Univision do when they wish to avoid reporting inconvenient news to their audiences? They bump those stories by rehashing reports on President Trump´s so-called  “anti-immigrant” policies, as was recently the case at Noticiero Univisión.

A record 28 million plus Hispanics in the United States were employed in November, 2019, but from what the Spanish-speaking nets convey, Latinos are – and must remain - eternally dependent on government assistance.

What was once anomalous bias by omission is now a familiar monthly ritual. The nation’s leading Spanish-language networks can’t seem to wrap their heads around the idea of having to report on the Trump administration’s jobs numbers within the Hispanic community, and if they do so, the report must end on some kind of sour note. The November report was no exception.

Every story is supposed to have two sides. But when it came to reporting the impeachment findings of the House Republicans on the Intelligence Committee vs. the Democrats’s report, the nation’s Spanish-speaking news networks tipped the balance in favor of the Democrats, by a margin of nearly 2 to 1.
