Media types, 185,000 of them according to an internet search, did everything they could to keep that stigma alive yesterday. They reported that the Boston Police Department's decision to honor a white man during Black History Month is just part of the continuing saga of racism in Beantown.

It doesn’t matter if they get the gold: U.S. Olympic figure skating pair Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim say they’re already winners – for making it onto the ice. And, according to People, they’re crediting their Christian faith.  

CNN spent nearly the entire day on Monday hammering President Trump for his response to the Rob Porter controversy. During the 3:00 p.m. ET hour, anchor Brooke Baldwin presented no exception to the anti-Trump hysteria. Baldwin brought on Amanda Carpenter, Chris Cillizza and Anushay Hossain to discuss the fallout of the President’s handling of the Porter situation.

During Monday’s edition of CNN's At this Hour, guest host Brianna Keilar brought on the New York Times’ Science and Health reporter Donald McNeil Jr. to discuss the flu epidemic sweeping the nation. McNeil had previously written an article for the Times arguing that President Trump needs to do more to protect public health.

In a monumental gaffe, former Today co-host Katie Couric, in covering the Winter Olympics opening ceremony for NBC, betrayed epic ignorance about the Netherlands in attributing its rich tradition in speed skating Olympic performances to skating being "a mode of transportation" there. She then added that skating is important "because of lots of canals that freeze in the winter."

ABC and NBC couldn’t find time on their February 11 Sunday political shows to mention conservative criticism of a budget deal that adds roughly $300 billion to the deficit, bringing the deficit total to over a trillion dollars. Conservative lawmakers have expressed concern that this deal goes against a fiscally conservative platform that the President and many in Congress campaigned on.

On Monday, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell repeatedly redirected any coverage of President Trump’s infrastructure plan back to discussions about the domestic abuse allegations against former White House staffer Rob Porter.

Last week, CBS This Morning journalists warned not to politicize the story of a drunk illegal alien who killed Indianapolis Colts player Edwin Jackson. That instruction apparently no longer applies as the network on Monday focused on an illegal hiding in a Phoenix church, trying to stay with his pregnant wife and five-year-old son who has cancer. Talk about story selection.
