On the Wednesday edition of FBN’s Risk and Reward, the MRC’s Rich Noyes told Liz MacDonald that, concerning the firing of NBC’s Matt Lauer for sexual misconduct allegations, it’s difficult to believe NBC News president Andy Lack didn’t know of Lauer’s misdeeds “unless he's living in a cave or everybody else whose talking on the record is lying.”

Hours after NBC fired Today co-host Matt Lauer over allegations of sexual misconduct, Variety published their long-awaited story on Wednesday afternoon, detailing disturbingly lewd stories about Lauer. They ranged from exposing himself to lewd texts to having a button on his desk to lock his office door.

As Wednesday’s Morning Joe was just starting the second hour of its broadcast, the news broke that Matt Lauer had been fired from NBC for his “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.” The MSNBC morning show’s panelists went out of their way to praise Lauer as a man of “class” and “dignity” who was a “loved” “mentor” and “friend” to those who have worked for the Today show, where Lauer was…

In retrospect, this is awkward. On Tuesday, Matt Lauer was fired from NBC for gross sexual misconduct. In June of 2012, his former co-host, Katie Couric, appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens.
