Well, that didn’t take long. Minutes before President Trump’s first State of the Union address on Tuesday, the major broadcast networks pulled out the long knives to attack the “embattled” and “deeply unpopular” President leading a GOP that’s “paying the political price in recent special elections” for a presidency whom people believe is working “against them.”

On Monday, all three network morning shows read from the same script as they tried to preempt President Trump’s State of the Union address with dour coverage of “controversies looming” over the speech and the President’s “record-low approval rating.” The broadcasts also touted how “deeply divided” the nation was on the eve of Trump’s remarks.  

Tuesday was a busy day at the White House as President Trump hosted bipartisan immigration talks, part of which were televised to the public, which no other president had done before.
