Although President Donald Trump has been in office for less that two years, many of those afflicted with extreme Trump Derangement Syndrome are already fantasizing about his exit from office. Don’t go to MSNBC for facts on the Constitution. For the second day in a row, the network attempted to explain the process of “how Impeachment works.” Once again, the cable channel screwed up. MSNBC Live host Ali Velshi on Thursday lectured his viewers: “Think of the House as a prosecutor and the articles of impeachment is a document detailing the alleged crimes.” So far so good. 

Liberal cable news outlets evidently had their own fairy tale ending in mind when former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations: impeachment. On Wednesday, CNN and MSNBC reporters, anchors, and paid contributors used the word an absurd 222 times in 18 hours. 

On Wednesday night, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News remained aboard the proverbial liberal media party bus pushing Congress to impeach President Trump and delay or thwart Brett Kavanaugh from reaching the Supreme Court following Tuesday’s bad Trump headlines involving Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort.

At this unique moment in American history, liberals and conservatives have something in common: an abhorrence of government prosecutors run amok. Republicans are livid at the federal fishing expedition known as the Mueller investigation. Bit players have been dragooned into an endlessly politicized probe. The media has taken sides; nonstop leaks have tainted the process.

With the continuing hysteria about Donald Trump's presidency, a few questions come to mind. The first: Can a bad man become a good president? The second: Does one's being a good man guarantee he'll be a good president? Third: Does having a good president require a good man? Is there any evidence of Lord Acton's argument that “great men are almost always bad men?”

In his haste to outline the impeachment process for liberal viewers hoping to see President Trump removed from office, on Wednesday, MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi got a couple key facts wrong. Later in the 11:00 a.m. ET hour show, Velshi corrected his mistakes after being alerted to them by members of the audience via social media.

During Poppy Harlow’s Wednesday show, CNN Newsroom, the anchor took the time to fact check some of President Trump’s tweets from that morning. However, Harlow stopped the buck halfway on one of the tweets, choosing to ignore a valid comparison to Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign.

Following the conviction of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and guilty pleas from former Trump attorney Michael Cohen on various federal charges on Tuesday, all three network morning shows on Wednesday declared the president’s impeachment to now be the main focus of the upcoming midterm elections.

Closing out his CNN show on Tuesday on a bad day for President Trump, Chris Cuomo asserted in his “Closing Argument” that Tuesday was “a bad day” for America because the President’s supporters still boisterously cheered him at a rally and thus didn’t boo him in light of the Cohen and Manafort cases.
