Minutes before Wednesday’s House Judiciary Committee impeachment inquiry hearing began, ABC journalists were already spinning what Republicans would say as nonsense. ABC’s Senior Congressional Correspondent Mary Bruce and Senior White House Correspondent Cecilia Vega dismissed Republicans as stooges for President Trump who would stop at nothing to disrupt the hearing with their “theatrics."

That’s right, folks. On Tuesday’s Hardball, MSNBC contributor and former Obama administration lackey Ben Rhodes bemoaned President Trump’s foreign policy as “fundamentally corrupting,” “not how our government is supposed to work,” and “a criminal enterprise...that...was not in the U.S. national interest” that’s unrivaled in our history.

Despite the fact that House Republicans on the Intelligence Committee released their impeachment findings a full day ahead of Democrats, the liberal broadcast networks granted their team 10 times the coverage in just one evening. ABC’s World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News granted the GOP report a measly 54 seconds of combined airtime. Sometimes, MSNBC analysts manage to pack an unbelievable amount of stupid into a short amount of time. Such was the case on Tuesday as Donny Deutsch ranted about Republicans bringing metaphorical machine guns to the impeachment fight, the country not surviving Donald Trump, and how the “facts” and “laws” “are not going to protect us. 

At the announcement that the media and Hollywood’s favorite candidate Kamala Harris had told her staff she was dropping out of the 2020 presidential race Tuesday, many cable news analysts expressed dismay. Yet MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle found a glimmer of hope in the whole situation: Now the former California attorney general would be free to prosecute President Trump!
