On Monday’s NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer and substitute co-host Maria Shriver led a panel discussion reviewing some of Sunday night’s Super Bowl commercials and gushed over the “social awareness” of ads that pushed liberal agenda items like environmental activism, equal pay, and illegal immigration.

If you just crawled out from under a rock and turned on Fox last night, you might have thought you were witnessing a presentation sponsored by the United Nations, instead of the Super Bowl. We weren’t treated to “We are the World,” but there was no shortage of advertisements pressing Americans to go the way of the world.

Well, Lady Gaga didn’t pull the political nuclear option like many people thought she would in her Super Bowl halftime extravaganza. But Fox Sports did go there in the pre-game show, propping up San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick as if he were a modern-day Patrick Henry.

Bill O’Reilly will be talking to Donald Trump on Sunday for what has now become the standard pre-Super Bowl presidential interview. For most of Barack Obama’s eight years, he had the luxury of softball interviews with liberal journalists. (Except in 2011 and 2014 when O’Reilly got to offer tough questions.) Here’s a look back at those eight interviews before the big game.

Who was it that demanded to know Russell Wilson’s take on current events? C’mon, fess up! Somebody asked – probably a 49ers fan wanting somebody else’s QB to look like an idiot for a change. 

Talk about losing your mind, folks. In a Monday morning post, USA Today columnist Nancy Armour decreed that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady “has some explaining to do” about why he’s friends with President Trump and Brady “no longer gets a pass” for simply associating with him.  

Who’s more threatening? A professional athlete who disrespects our flag and our troops and supports the radical activism of Black Lives Matter and the ruthless dictatorship of the late Fidel Castro? Or an athlete who wears a Trump hat?

Next time Meryl Streep or some other Hollywood culture maven decides to look down her nose at mixed martial arts (“which are not the arts,” Streep huffed during her obnoxious Golden Globes rant), she may want to consider that she has at least one high-profile political ally in the octagon.

Univision-owned Deadspin tried taking a swipe last night at U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), and failed miserably. Hilarity ensued, Twitter lit up, and the fallout extended well into the night. Once you stop laughing, you realize that there are legitimate questions that remain unasked - and some that merit an answer.

Univision-owned and far-left sports site Deadspin took a dive into the gutter on Tuesday night, telling Republican Senator Ted Cruz (Tex.) to “go eat shit” on Twitter following a post about Cruz playing pick-up basketball games with Senate colleagues.  

NBA star-activists may be hip, but they’re also depressed about the change of leadership in Washington. As they pout over Barack Obama’s departure from the White House, a writer for the left-leaning Bleacher Report is encouraging them to lead reprisals against President Trump and white, far-right Americans who voted him into the Oval Office.

Phew! That was close. It looked for a moment that Americans might be denied the trenchant political observations of Lady Gaga during the Super Bowl halftime show. The Huffington Post had reported that the NFL ordered Gaga to shut up and sing.

Cheating and scandal have proven unable to shake New England Patriots’ fans from their attachment to the controversial National Football League team. However, the personal off-the-field decisions of three key leaders of the team are proving too much to overlook.
