Despite the prominence of both the Catholic and Evangelical Christian faith among the nation’s Hispanic population, so far during this general election campaign season the efforts by the presidential candidates to engage voters from a faith perspective have been almost entirely absent from the news coverage of the two leading Spanish-language television networks, Univision and Telemundo. 

A recent episode of Netflix’s Chelsea, “I Was a Ticking Time Bomb,” turned into a mini abortion rally and Planned Parenthood commercial. Extreme left-wing feminist Gloria Steinem was on the show to promote her book My Life on the Road, which she dedicated to her illegal abortionist.

Univision's news brand pretty much centers around the stridency of its immigration coverage these days. However, it is fascinating to watch the network try to hide its biases on other major issues, as evidenced by coverage of the Supreme Court's ruling in the Texas abortion case.
