Lost on the two was that former Biden advisor Dr. Michael Osterholm said the exact same thing on CNN the previous week.

Forget New York's Andrew Cuomo with his nursing home and sexual harassment scandals. According to CNN's Don Lemon and Matthew Dowd, Texas' Greg Abbott "is in a race to be the worst possible governor" with Florida's Ron DeSantis. Dowd said "Greg Abbott is the Dr. Evil of Texas government. Everything he does is cruel and craven." 

On CNN's New Day, Democrat strategist Michael Starr Hopkins accused Republicans of "basically wanting to turn Florida into a morgue." The media's obsession with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continued on Tuesday as Katy Tur Reports guest host Geoff Bennett let Agriculture Commissioner and gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried spread multiple untruths about DeSantis' pandemic response. That Fried was allowed to spread such claims was not surprising as Bennett's questioning relied on similarly false premises.

With Joe Scarborough leading the charge, Morning Joe absolutely tore into the New York teachers union today for its rejection of a vaccine mandate for teachers. Scarborough called the union's position "ridiculous," and accused the unions of "whining" for months that they couldn't return to classrooms until there was a vaccine, but now that vaccines are available, rejecting the mandate.

Morning Joe regular Dave Aronberg, the Palm Beach County State Attorney, twice claimed today that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's stance on Covid constitutes—of all things—"socialism." 

It is obvious that the media view Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a 2024 threat; hence every discussion about COVID and the Delta variant must include an implication that Florida is a uniquely dire situation. On his Friday show, Cuomo blamed Florida for the CDC's revised mask guidelines, saying the country was being "held hostage" because of DeSantis' anti-science governance. 

Appearing on Wednesday's Katy Tur Reports on MSNBC, PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor declared that "white male conservative voters" and former President Trump are to blame for the CDC's flip-flopping on their latest guidelines that says vaccinated people should be wearing masks, but the facts said otherwise.
