Boston Herald Washington chief Kimberly Atkins revealed during Monday’s The 11th Hour just how “really stung” she was by President Trump’s Pocahontas comment about Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) to the point that this one comment made for a “bad” and “sad day” for America. Really.

On Monday, Dictionary.com announced that it’s 2017 Word of the Year was “complicit,” citing left-wing accusations that anyone not fighting against the Trump administration was endorsing hate or racism. Liberal media outlets like The Washington Post and MSNBC gleefully seized on the dubious ranking as an exemplification of the Trump era.

On MSNBC’s 11th Hour Monday night, disgraced fake news anchor Brian Williams warned of the “danger” of President Trump calling out liberal media bias at CNN International. The left-wing channel’s favorite “Republican,” Steve Schmidt, eagerly agreed with Williams, claiming the President was endangering journalists and behaving like an “autocrat.”

As expected, CNN responded to President Trump’s weekend tweet criticizing CNN International by basking in self-righteous indignation, including a Monday afternoon response by Wolf Blitzer that featured hilarious claims such as CNNi being “free and independent” while proving Trump’s point by inviting on a former Obama official to sing their praises.

On CBS’s Face the Nation, moderator John Dickerson asked his political roundtable if there were any stories they felt were not getting enough news coverage. Predictably, the liberal journalists on the panel fretted that Republican efforts on the state level to “ban abortion” and engage in “voter suppression” were happening “completely under the radar.”

Sometimes, the jokes and stories write themselves, folks. On Monday morning’s MSNBC Live, host Stephanie Ruhle turned to none other than fake news anchor Dan Rather to decry President Trump’s tweet calling for a “FAKE NEWS TROPHY” and smugly defend the news media as the one “red beating heart of freedom and democracy.”

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi was actually grilled by moderator Chuck Todd on numerous sexual harassment allegations made against Senator Al Franken and Congressman John Conyers. She had clearly grown accustomed to the usual softball treatment she has received on the network and complained about not being given enough time to bash Republicans.

On Saturday's AM Joy, the MSNBC show at one point looked like a caricature of itself as frequent guest Fernand Armandi actually made the incendiary claim that the Republican party is a "domestic terror group," and then asserted that voters should not only vote them out, but "consider possibly afterwards locking them up." The Democratic pollster -- known for making wildly over the top statements…

On Saturday's AM Joy, Washington Post columnist and frequent MSNBC guest Jennifer Rubin was near breaking her own record for aiming vitriol at Republicans as she declared that "there is a special place in hell" for Kellyanne Conway because the White House advisor recently advocated voting for Roy Moore in spite of sexual molestation accusations against the Alabama Republican.

Those who believe history is presumptively written by the winners haven't seen Francis Wilkinson's attempt to create a bogus narrative on the four-year IRS scandal which appeared at Bloomberg News on Monday. 

The “IRS scandal” is best understood as a significant work of fiction, suggested New York magazine’s Jonathan Chait on Tuesday. As Chait tells it, conservatives’ false belief that the tax agency subjected righty groups to especially exacting treatment “prefigure[d] the Republicans’ own blueprint for the use of government as an implement of partisan domination and revenge.”
