In a report for Friday’s NBC Today, special correspondent Tom Brokaw bemoaned the “turmoil” and “chaos” in Washington following Republican Senators Jeff Flake and Bob Corker blasting President Trump. The former Nightly News anchor seized the chance to compare the current contentiousness to the Monica Lewinsky, Iran-Contra, and Watergate scandals that threatened past presidencies.

Federal income tax was first introduced under the Revenue Act of 1861 to help defray war costs. Congress repealed the tax in 1871 when the need for government revenue declined, only to restore it in 1894 as part of the Wilson-Gorman Tariff Act. The public policy debate surrounding the constitutionality of income tax has been going on ever since.

ABC’s Designated Survivor seems to be on a roll with its liberal bias lately. This is the third week in a row where the show attempted to stuff in as much propaganda as it can in an hour. Though he wasn’t able to out-do CNN in the gushiness department, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews gave it his best shot on Tuesday by proclaiming the blistering anti-Trump speech by Republican Senator Jeff Flake (Ariz.) as something “straight from a great novel or movie.”

On Tuesday afternoon, CNN Newsroom couldn’t contain their overwhelming praise for Republican Senator Jeff Flake (Ariz.) following his anti-Trump speech on the Senate floor, swooning like Barack Obama had just given the speech by declaring it a “breathtaking,” “historic,” and “extraordinary moment in American politics.”

On Tuesday's New Day on CNN, as California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters appeared as a guest, host Chris Cuomo failed to challenge her hyperbolic attempts to link her Republican "right wing" opponents to the 'KKK" as he only mildly pressed her on her recent claim that she would "take Trump out tonight."

On Monday’s Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough decided to attack Donald Trump, once again, as having an administration full of “a lot of little autocrats running around.” Not that much later in the show, in a whiplash-inducing reversal of positions, Scarborough mocked Trump for repeatedly deferring to Congressional authority on legislative matters and said that Trump is “the weakest leader” that…

While covering Republican efforts to reform the tax system and the health care industry, on Monday’s CBS This Morning, correspondent Major Garrett turned to Democrats to tear down both GOP agenda items, claiming the Trump administration tax plan was “angling to benefit the wealthy” and that the President “caved to conservatives” by maintaining his opposition to ObamaCare subsidies.

Where would we be without the efforts of government spending? At least $20 trillion less in debt, but that never seems to occur to the more left-leaning politicians. Meanwhile, CBS’s Madam Secretary takes the time to remind the viewers about how necessary everyone and everything employed by the government can be.

New York Times reporter Sheryl Gay Stolberg filed a flattering story on Sen. John McCain, “In Twilight of Career, McCain Becomes an Unfettered Voice Against Trumpism.” The text box of Saturday’s story was even more syrupy: “After a cancer diagnosis, an even more vocal defender of national ideals.” So where was this praise from Stolberg when Sen. McCain dared stand in the way of President Obama?
