As if we needed more proof that Facebook is overrun by leftists, one of the platform’s engineers just quit because the company was — wait for it — not leftist enough.
Facebook engineer Ashok Chandwaney left the company on Tuesday morning, claiming in a letter, “I can no longer stomach contributing to an organization that is profiting off hate in the US and globally,” reported The Washington Post.
Chandwaney, who identifies as non-binary, is only the latest Facebook employee to express concern over the platform’s policies regaurding “racism, disinformation and incitements to violence,” according to The Post.
Chandwaney reportedly left because “the company’s leadership was focused on profits over promoting social good,” according to The Post.
Within the company, political debates are not uncommon. Recently, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had to step in regarding an internal debate about Black Lives Matter. Additionally, the company said it is already prepared to crack down on President Donald Trump following the election. It also silenced a pro-Trump Super PAC in August.
Additionally, in 2019, Facebook censored the pro-life organization Live Action. Zuckerberg allegedly later admitted in a meeting with Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) that “there was clear bias, and that the ‘fact checkers’ were activists,” said Live Action president and founder Lila Rose in a tweet.
You can’t please everyone, but it appears as though Facebook cannot please anyone, not even its leftist employees.
