Petulant Pelosi Slams Facebook for Allowing Free Speech

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi scorched Facebook for allowing conservatives to criticize and mock liberals.

Pelosi had received a question from a reporter about whether Facebook had done enough to censor conservatives and “correct the president’s lies” and replied by torching the platform publicly: “I’m not a big fan of Facebook. I don’t know what they have been doing, but I know they’ve been part of the problem all along.”

The reporter also noted: “We’ve seen the social media companies be forced to step in and crack down” on American citizens voicing their concerns about voter fraud via “irregularities with voting machines.”

Despite both conservative concerns about voter fraud and Pelosi’s lamentations about Facebook allowing conservatives to speak and satirize, The Independent reported how the Speaker had “noted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on Thursday called this the ‘most secure in American history.’”

Pelosi’s animosity towards Facebook made headlines previously after an altered video of her went viral on Facebook, making it appear as if she was slurring her words.

Liberals were outraged by Facebook’s choice to merely label the video rather than remove it entirely.

"I think they have proven — by not taking down something they know is false — that they were willing enablers of the Russian interference in our election," Pelosi told KQED, according to CNN. "We have said all along, poor Facebook, they were unwittingly exploited by the Russians. I think wittingly, because right now they are putting up something that they know is false. I think it's wrong," she added. "I can take it. ... But [Facebook is] lying to the public."
