SHOT: Salt Lake Tribune Tags Utah's GOP Delegation as 'Hole-in-the-Head Gang'

The Salt Lake Tribune is not shy about how much it hates Republicans or conservatives. Earlier this year, they put their prying eyes on Jennica Pounds -- "Data Republican" on X, telling everyone about the bar her husband owns, and more.

On October 7, Tribune political cartoonist Pat Bagley sounded like a "No Kings" cartoonist with a WANTED poster with mug shots of the Utah congressional delegation: Sens. Mike Lee and John Curtis, as well as Reps. Blake Moore, Burgess Owens, Celeste Maloy, and Mike Kennedy.

They were called "The Gutless Gang," wanted “for failure to honor their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution from the dictatorial whims of a malignant clown.”

Here's the most controversial part: The Tribune website headlined this cartoon "The Hole-in-the-Head Gang." Considering President Trump -- the "malignant clown" mentioned -- was shot through the ear last year, that was NOT the right headline, as social-media spread the offense:

The Tribune recognized that this headline could be implying violence, so the headline was changed to the bland descriptor "Utah's reps" and an Editor's Note was appended:

Editor’s note, Oct. 9, 7:12 p.m. -The headline on this cartoon has been updated because the original did not meet our standards for publication. We know words matter. We try to be intentional about the words we use and we regret this error.

Bagley kept up the crudely violent metaphors in his latest cartoon, which is headlined (at least for now) "Midwest Chainsaw Massacre," showing Argentina's president Javier Milei lunging with his chainsaw at "U.S. Farmers" with Trump and Vance behind him with $40 billion in a wheelbarrow, and Trump saying "Hurry! We have to help....the guy with the chainsaw."
