CNN has been spoon-feeding its liberal audience with clips of a Christiane Amanpour with Hillary Clinton. On Thursday night, conservative Twitter was alarmed by Hillary's wild talk of a "formal deprogramming of the cult members," the "MAGA extremists." We know the FBI is probing the MAGA extremists in the lead-up to the 2024 election, in part because the Democrats really want to paint them as a....Red Hat Menace.
It began with Amanpour lamenting the "pragmatic Republicans" aren't compromising with the Democrats. There's no questioning about Democrat extremists or pragmatic Democrats. Only one party gets a psychoanalysis.
CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR: So for those outside this country who may not know, it is not so much a fight between two different parties. It's an internecine [inter-nigh-cine??] warfare within one party, the GOP....Is there any area of coalition building that could happen? There are pragmatic Republicans, as you say. Could a whole new way of trying to get legislation going and cross-party governance going by Democrats and certain Republicans forming a coalition?
HILLARY CLINTON: There have been very strong partisans in both parties in the past, and we had very bitter battles over all kinds of things. Gun control, and climate change, and economy and taxes. But there wasn't this little tale of extremism waving, you know, wagging the dog of the Republican party as it is today.
And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists, take their marching orders from Donald Trump who has no credibility left by any measure. He's only in it for himself. He's now defending himself in civil actions and criminal actions, and when do they break with him? At some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members, but something needs to happen.
Notice Amanpour doesn't question this language, or ask for specifics. "What kind of formal deprogramming and by who?" She rolls with it. "And how do you do that? As you said, you have to defeat them by defeating their leader. Their leader is Donald Trump. Even you have said you expect him to be the Republican nominee. How does this change at all?"
CNN promoted this garbage as the "news" in its online video section. Sounds reasonable to them!
Clinton calls for 'formal deprogramming' of MAGA 'cult members'
In an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, former Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton discusses why she believes supporters for former President Donald Trump are intimidating "sane" House GOP members and calls for a "formal deprogramming" for MAGA "cult extremists."
It must be said that while she was First Lady/co-president in the 1990s, Hillary Clinton decried a "vast right-wing conspiracy" as the liberal media blamed conservative extremists for the Oklahoma City bombing and violence at abortion clinics. George W. Bush was painted as Hitlerian. So don't buy the notion that the Democrats never played this Extremism card in the "good old days."
