NewsBusters Podcast: Reliably Biased Media Stars Blame The Media for Biden's Bad Polls

October 11th, 2021 6:34 PM

CNN and MSNBC are now lamenting the media's role in Biden's polling decline. On his MSNBC show The 11th Hour, Brian Williams claimed "really crappy reporting" is to blame, that "mainstream media" is using "false equivalence standards that stopped in 1978," which may have been around when Williams interned in the Jimmy Carter White House. Who is Williams to decry "really crappy reporting," considering his record?

On CNN's Reliable Sources, Brian Stelter complained it was irresponsible to push the message "Democrats in disarray" when they can't pass their big-spending agenda. "It's a meme, it's a joke, but it's also said seriously all the time." He ran a clip of Biden complaining the news was "awfully noisy" and suggesting "every disagreement is a crisis." Stelter added "Factually speaking, he's right."

We also spend a few minutes recalling the thirtieth anniversary of hearings when Anita Hill unloaded her still-unsubstantiated claims of sexual harassment against Clarence Thomas. To this day, they "print the legend" and ignore that in real time, twice as many Americans believed Thomas.
