HOT MIC MESS: MSNBC Reporter Drops Profanity Bombs on Craig Melvin

November 10th, 2020 2:51 PM

MSNBC national security reporter Ken Dilanian dropped an F-bomb and an S-bomb on the air on Tuesday morning with Craig Melvin in the 11 am Eastern hour. Melvin turned to the current liberal spin – the Trump administration’s supposedly awful refusal to work on the presidential transition with Joe Biden’s team. "NBC's Ken Dilanian has new reporting on something we talked about at the top of the hour, how the Trump administration is handling the transition with the incoming Biden team, or not handling it, we should say, to a certain extent." He asked Dilanian, “Ken, what have you learned, sir?”

Dilanian, possibly thinking his internet connection had been lost and not realizing he was on camera, could be seen and heard whispering to himself, “Oh, sh*t. F*ck.” Melvin attempted a poker face, and then said, “Okay, I think we lost Ken for a second.”

Twenty minutes later, Melvin said .“We want to try to get back to NBC’s Ken Dilanian with breaking news,” Melvin said. “We were having technical difficulties a few moments ago. Ken's got some reporting on how the Trump administration is handling the transition with the Biden team, specifically with our intelligence community. Ken, what have you learned?”

Dilanian began: “.Hey, Craig. First, I want to sincerely apologize to viewers who may have heard me use profanity at the top of the last hit. What we’re learning today is the potential impact of the resistance of the Trump administration to acknowledge the Biden win in the intelligence arena specifically.”

This brought to mind Senator Tom Carper (D-Delaware) in August dropping the "F-F-F" on Zoom testimony over the Postmaster General. It's a real cluster-Zoom.

It certainly didn't seem like there were difficulties in the video feed. As one wag joked, "Hopefully, Dilanian just realized he had forgotten his anniversary or to pick up the dry cleaning."
