Seth Meyers isn’t funny, but he’s definitely a joke. The Late Night host trashed Donald Trump when the Republican was President. Now that a Democrat is in charge, he has a new obsession: Moderate Democrat Joe Manchin. Rather than hold Joe Biden to account, Meyers slimed the West Virginia Senator as a corrupt, “ignoble” politician who “s****” all over the President’s agenda.
MRC analysts monitored the last six weeks of the liberal political activist masquerading as a comedian and found a clear obsession. “Jokes” that his studio audience don’t find funny, “humor” so lame that he blames staff writers for the silence during the show.
For instance, on November 25, Meyers offered this attempt at comedy: “West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is reportedly in talks for a book deal. The book will be sold at Barnes and Ignoble.” Get it? After the joke bombed, he blamed his writer: “I mean, can you imagine sitting and writing a joke where the punch line is ‘ignoble?’ You don’t even hear it right. That [joke] was written by Matt.”
Here’s a montage of his obsession:
On December 13, he actually led the show with this effort:
Good evening. I'm Seth Meyers. This is Late Night. We hope you're doing well. And now we are going to get to the news. President Biden is expected to meet with West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin today to secure his vote for the Build Back Better act, or, as it will be known after the meeting, the "Build Back Coal Mines and Nothing Else” act.
On December 7, 2021, Meyers portrayed Manchin’s hesitance to spend trillions as making him the new Ebenezer Scrooge: “Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer yesterday reiterated his goal for Democrats to pass the build back better spending bill by Christmas the same night Joe Manchin will be visited by three spirits.”
On November 22, he mentioned the controversial anti-Semitic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, but only as a way of mocking Manchin: “In a new interview, Michigan congresswoman Rashida Tlaib referred to Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema as, quote, corporate Democrats. They're offended, but just about the Democrat part.”
See if you can find the comedy in this one from November 9:
West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is reportedly in talks for a book tell. Well, technically someone else will write the book, and he'll cut out all the good parts.”
After that joke bombed, Meyers mockingly fumed, “And that’s budget comedy. You came for budget comedy and here it is.”
Sometimes, like on November 4, there really wasn’t a joke: “Just this week, Democratic leaders put paid family leave back in the bill because it's extremely popular. And once again, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin immediately [bleep] all over it.”
On Wednesday, it was announced that Democrats were likely delaying attempts at passing the Build Back Better spending bill until 2022. The culprit according to Democrats: Manchin. So expect more hate directed at the West Virginia moderate. The idea that one might mock Schumer or President Biden? That’s not an option for hacks like Seth Meyers.
The protection of Biden's agenda and the hate directed towards Manchin were sponsored by Starbucks, Toyota and Crown Royal. Click on the links to let them know what you think.

12:38 AM ETSETH MEYERS: Good evening. I'm Seth Meyers. And this is Late Night. We hope you're doing well tonight. Now let's get to the news. President Biden spoke on the phone yesterday with West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, and they were able to work out an agreement. It's now President Manchin and Senator Biden. When asked by reporters after speaking with president Biden about the $2 trillion spending bill, if the measure will pass this year, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin said, quote, "Anything's possible here. Okay, but to be clear, that's not good news. When someone says, "Hey, come to my party tonight, anything's possible," you're leaving in handcuffs without your pants.

MEYERS: Unfortunately, we've got an unhinged Republican party that loses its [bleep] If just a handful of their members vote for a bipartisan infrastructure plan, and millionaire corporate Democrats like Joe Manchin standing in the way of the agenda president Biden promised to deliver and it certainly doesn't help the optics that not only does Manchin have a yacht that he calls a houseboat, he also apparently has a Maserati, as we discovered from a recent clip where he was confronted by climate activists. I'm sorry, but no politician should have a Maserati are you senator from West Virginia or a plastic surgeon from Palm Beach?
