This Week in Media Bias History: GOP Wants to Profit Off ‘Your Dead Corpse!’

September 29th, 2018 12:15 PM

MSNBC was never known for subtlety. But even for a network full of liberals, this was over the top. On September 23, 2009, then-host Ed Schultz spewed hate about Republican views on ObamaCare: “The Republicans lie! They want to see you dead! They’d rather make money off your dead corpse!”

Then-Today co-host Katie Couric was SO excited about the opportunity to bash Ronald Reagan that she mangled a statement by biographer Edmund Morris. Couric opened the September 27, 1999 Today show with this: “Good Morning. The Gipper was an airhead!” Two days later, Morris appeared on the program and shot down Couric's bogus attack: “Oh, good God, no! He was a very bright man.”
