Politico Frames Gabbard's Russia/Obama Documents as a Partisan Diversion from Epstein

Epstein! Epstein! Epstein!

Please keep your minds focused on Jeffrey Epstein and his connection to President Donald Trump! No other story should be allowed to divert your attention away from Epstein and Trump.

That definitely seems to be the attitude with Politico which is now treating the unfolding of the shocking details of Team Obama and their role in basically staging a coup against incoming President Donald Trump in December 2016 as really nothing more than an annoying diversion away from EPSTEIN! That is the basic theme of Tuesday's article by Politico's White House correspondent Eli Stokols, "Deflecting Epstein questions, Trump urges DOJ to 'go after' Obama."

President Donald Trump on Tuesday attempted to shift the public’s focus away from the building crisis around the release of sealed documents detailing the Jeffrey Epstein case by urging his Justice Department to go after his predecessors.

“Whether it’s right or wrong, it’s time to go after people,” Trump said, accusing former President Barack Obama of “treason.”

...The remarks, which come as Republicans in Washington are increasingly divided over how to respond to Trump’s unfulfilled promises to release the Epstein documents, represent an attempt to not only deflect the focus on Epstein but growing willingness to sic law enforcement agencies, which have traditionally operated independent from the White House, on his political enemies.

Stokols really really wants you to see the revelations provided by the Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard as nothing more than an obvious diversion from an issue that really matters (to Politico), Epstein.

This sense of annoyance by Politico to the breaking Obamagate story extends to its coverage of that story which is not much. In fact, the last and ONLY time Politico went any detail on it was Friday in "Gabbard threatens prosecution against Obama administration officials for ‘treasonous conspiracy’." The thrust of the story by Jacob Wendler and Amy MacKinnon was to portray the allegations by Gabbard as primarily political.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard called for several Obama administration officials to face criminal prosecution for participating in a “treasonous conspiracy” surrounding the 2016 election on Friday afternoon, the latest example of the Trump administration targeting critics of the president.

In a newly declassified report, Gabbard on Friday alleged the officials “manipulated and withheld” key intelligence from the public related to the possibility of Russian interference in the election.

...The administration has routinely targeted critics of the president and has sought to relitigate the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. The president has repeatedly criticized former intelligence officials for their efforts to probe the Kremlin’s possible attempts to interfere in American politics, with Trump accusing Comey of leading a “corrupt and vicious witch hunt” against him.

He has stripped security clearances of prominent Obama and Biden era officials, and has long promised investigations into public figures he views as enemies. In April, he ordered an investigation into Christopher Krebs, who ran Trump’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency during his first term and prominently pushed back against Trump’s stolen 2020 election mythology.

Got that? Pay no attention to the unfolding Obamagate scandal because it is really about politics, politics, politics and only serves to divert your attention away from what is really important (to Politico)...Jeffrey Epstein. And we are supposed to believe that the motive for Politico's intense interest in Epstein has nothing to do with sordid partisan politics because their hearts are as pure as the driven ...slush.
