You've got to be kidding me.
MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Thursday, during a question and answer session after his keynote address at Philadelphia's Thinkfest, actually joked about New Jersey governor Chris Christie crushing his wife during sex (video follows with transcript and commentary):
TOM MCGRATH, PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE EDITOR: Two days after Election Day, Chris Christie has crushed his opponent. Is he gonna be the Republican...
CHRIS MATTHEWS: The one I feel for is his wife.
[Laughter from the crowd]
MCGRATH: Why's that?
MATTHEWS: Did you just say, "crush?" I mean, use your imagination. [Laughter from the crowd] Use your imagination. You poor dear. You poor dear.
Once again, you've got to be kidding me.
Is this what Matthews and folks that would pay to see him speak think is funny? At an event called "Thinkfest?"
