Did you vote for President Trump in the 2024 presidential election? Well, if you did, ABC co-host Sunny Hostin of The View claimed you were a reason for why an American Airlines jet and an Army Blackhawk helicopter collided in midair over Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. According to her, it was the “very telling” “result” of you wanting to “blow things up” in Washington, D.C.
Amid their outrage at President Trump for suggesting the Obama and Biden administrations’ DEI programs to have the FAA hire people with “severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability,” Hostin huffed: “Yeah, I'm not going to dignify his remarks about DEI. I’m not going to do that.”
Being one who experiences chronic racial grievance, Hostin would usually try to write of criticism of DEI as racist or made up. But the reality was that she couldn’t because those were the hiring parameters the FAA had published on their website.
Hostin then proceeded to read somethings – she didn’t cite where she got them – that blamed Trump’s personnel decisions with transportation and aviation safety groups for the collision:
But to Ana's point, just last week Trump fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and Coast Guard and he also eliminated all the members of a key aviation security advisory group. The Aviation Security Committee will technically continue to exist but it won't have any members to carry out the work of examining safety issues at airlines and airports.
She then expanded that blame in her own words to Trump’s voters, suggesting it was “very telling” that the crash was “the result” of them wanting to “blow things up” in the swamp:
I think that that is very telling that when, you know, voters decide that they want someone to blow things up and they want someone to blow up infrastructures, this is the result. You cannot blow up infrastructures and take people that have real experience in these types of issues and think that good things will happen because of it.
Fake Republican Ana Navarro also going into the blame game they were hypocritically decrying Trump for. She promoted a quote from former Transpiration Secretary Pete Buttigieg blaming Trump:
I want to read what Pete Buttigieg, who was one of the people that Trump attacked just said. “As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.”
Of course, faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin couldn’t even be bothered to counter Hostin’s smears of Trump voters.

So, you know, I –

And I will also say his transportation secretary, Sean Duffy said that everything was standard in the lead-up to the crash. That was from his own secretary of transportation who replaced Pete Buttigieg.
