The View Attacks Catholic Charities for Inviting Trump to Fundraiser Dinner

ABC’s The View is so anti-Trump that they will denounce even legitimate charities that help many people if they dare to invite him to an event; even a charity event that traditionally invites both major party presidential candidates. The liberal ladies kicked off their Friday episode by attacking Catholic Charities for keeping with tradition and inviting former President Trump (and Vice President Harris) to their Al Smith Dinner.

Friday moderator Joy Behar repeatedly lashed out at Cardinal Dolan for inviting Trump at all despite the fact the event had historically brought together both sides of the political aisle for a good cause:

BEHAR: Thank you, Cardinal Dolan, for this wonderful moment. So, is this Catholic Church event normalizing a guy who’s already broken 11 of the 10 commandments? What do you think?

(…)

BEHAR: Well, the Haitians in particular I think was an egregious sin because those are Catholics.

HOSTIN: Yes.

BEHAR: Cardinal Dolan should know that.

Purported devout Catholic Sunny Hostin showed, once again, that the Democrats were the party of conserving institutional norms and civility by proclaiming “there's a time to break tradition” because Trump.

She further bloviated:

I think so. I hate to break with tradition because this is a tradition, and it's a tradition to have both presidential candidates come to this particular dinner. But sometimes there's a time to break tradition. You can't have a felon, a liar, a serial cheater – you know, he had Melania next to him. His third wife, who he cheated with Stormy Daniels while she was pregnant. I just – I think he stands against everything and flies in the face of everything that a Catholic believes and holds dear. He is not a faithful man.

Fake Republican Ana Navarro noted “this dinner raised funds for Catholic Charities and some of the work the church does with the most needy,” and “I actually worked with Catholic Charities when I was in high school.”

But that didn’t stop her from attacking the charity organization for trying to maximize the event for their mission: “They help immigrants. So, to have Donald Trump sitting there and we are pretending that he is some sort of, like, upstanding citizen, I find it rather offensive.”

“I am glad Kamala Harris wasn't there,” she added.

Faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin insisted that helping Catholic Charites was a waste of Harris’s time and that it was better for her to stay on the campaign trail in Wisconsin:

For the last few days, the Trump campaign has been out there, like, ‘Kamala Harris is skipping this Catholic event.’ Well, she was in the swing state of Wisconsin. And I would argue that's a bitter use of her time than showing up to a Catholic event using a racist slur about President Obama, swearing throughout it, making crass jokes and insulting people.

On a side note, Navarro flipped out over Trump mispronouncing “Kamala” “11 freaking times” during the dinner. But she had her own pronunciation problems when she declared: “It doesn’t matter because he's going to have to say ‘madam precedent!’”

ANA NAVARRO: But listen, this dinner raised funds for Catholic Charities and some of the work the church does with the most needy. I actually worked with Catholic Charities when I was in high school. Sister Georgie Blaser sent me there, it was run by Sister Barbara Dowson in San Francisco. They help immigrants. So, to have Donald Trump sitting there and we are pretending that he is some sort of, like, upstanding citizen, I find it rather offensive. I am glad Kamala Harris wasn't there.

Oh, by the way, Donald Trump mispronounced her name 11 freaking times.

BEHAR: He does it on purpose.

HOSTIN: He does that intentionally.

NAVARRO: It doesn’t matter because he's going to have to say “madam precedent” [sic].

[Applause]

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: For the last few days, the Trump campaign has been out there, like, ‘Kamala Harris is skipping this Catholic event.’ Well, she was in the swing state of Wisconsin.
