In something of a follow-up to her bizarre and ditzy interview with then-candidate Joe Biden in 2020, MSNBC Deadline: White House host Nicolle Wallace managed to snag another interview with the President on Thursday. As many expected, it was yet another embarrassing display for the network as Wallace giggled her way through the interview, heaping praises and adulations on the Democrat. At one point she said the show was his whenever he liked if he had something on his mind, which explains why there were ZERO questions about Hunter Biden and his plea deal.
Less than 10 seconds (9.4 seconds) into the interview and Wallace was already giggling and gushing about how excited she was to have someone as powerful as him on the show:
WALLACE: This is very exciting for us.
BIDEN: It’s exciting for me.
WALLACE: [Giggles] You said today – And I know that you have a lot of power but I can't imagine you manufactured the breaking news about the court.
Their first topic of discussion was the Supreme Court ruling affirmative action unconstitutional, in that it violated equal protection under the 14th Amendment. But Wallace’s interest was having the President bash the court and erode our institutions to threaten democracy:
WALLACE: You say this court is not normal. What did you mean?
BIDEN: What I meant by that is it's done more to unravel basic rights and basic decisions than any court in recent history.
She suggested the Supreme Court was somehow “anti-democratic” and repeatedly pressed Biden on so-called “court reform” legislation. And she was giggling about that too:
WALLACE: I mean, I think some of your former Senate colleagues on the Judiciary Committee would go as far as to say that it's anti-democratic. Do you agree with that?
BIDEN: Well, you know, if I say it's anti-democratic then it gets awful-
WALLACE [interrupting]: Get in a lot of trouble. [Giggles]
“Do you worry that without court reform this conservative majority is too young and too conservative, that they might do too much harm?” she wondered while urging him to pack the Supreme Court with liberals.
Biden agreed that the conservative court would “do too much harm” to the country, but refused to pack the court. “I think if we start the process of trying to expand the court, we're going to politicize it maybe forever in a way that is not healthy,” he said.
The rest of the interview meandered between January 6, the Wagner rebellion in Russia (with Wallace begging him to tell her what he knew ahead of time), and his 2024 strategy.
As they were wrapping up, a beaming Wallace offered up her show to be Biden’s platform whenever he wanted:
Mr. President, we don't get a lot of presidents through this studio, so consider it your chair. Consider it an open invitation. There are going to be a lot of things on people's minds and I hope you'll look at this as a place you can come and talk about anything that’s on your mind.
Seemingly in a rush to get to the bathroom, Biden got up and walked off set before the commercials started to roll.
A fitting end.

BIDEN: No, no. But its – It is – its value system is differs respect for institutions is different, and in that sense, it is not as embracing of all what I think the -- the Constitution says we hold these truths to be self-evident, all men and women are created equal endowed by their creator. It's the uniqueness of America. We never fully lived up to it, we never walked away from it. This court seems to say that's not always the case. The idea that there’s no right of privacy in the Constitution? Giving states power that we fought a war over in 1960. You know, I just think it's -- this is not your father's Republican Party.
