If President Trump were to quote one of the world’s deadliest dictators in a positive way, the liberal media would have a Chernobyl-level meltdown. In fact, they tried to claim his campaign’s use of a bald eagle was a nod to Nazi Germany. But when Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden quoted Mao Tse-tung during a Monday evening campaign event, his allies at ABC, CBS, and NBC covered it up. Instead of reporting on Biden’s controversial comment, Tuesday’s CBS Evening News took to campaigning for him.
Biden’s quotation of Mao came during a Monday evening virtual campaign event co-hosted by former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. “According to the pool reporter who watched the event, Biden then cited the Chinese proverb, ‘Women hold up half the sky,’” Washington Examiner political reporter Joseph Simonson wrote.
He added: “The phrase comes from a proclamation by Mao in the mid-20th century that helped grant certain rights to women in China. The phrase became commonplace in China at the time, often appearing on pieces of propaganda in factories or other industrial areas.”
The comment came as the Trump campaign was making the argument that Biden was too close with China.
Instead of reporting on Biden quoting a mass murderer, CBS Evening News campaigned for him. “Today, Joe Biden unveiled a $2 trillion plan to fight climate change and create jobs in the post-COVID economy. He also took aim at the President’s record,” cheered anchor Norah O’Donnell.
Handing off to political correspondent Ed O’Keefe, the network refused to further mention Biden’s $2 trillion climate change plan. O’Keefe preferred to spend the segment gushing about how Biden “ridiculed President Trump's response to the coronavirus.”
“The President, who wore a mask to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center over the weekend, was also criticized by Biden for failing to listen to medical professionals like Dr. Anthony Fauci,” he continued.
O’Keefe repeated his morbid celebration from Monday, where he touted how states with rising coronavirus infections were reportedly trending towards Biden.
CBS even treated the Biden campaign with some free airtime for a campaign ad they were running in Texas, a state Democrats were desperately trying to flip:
O’KEEFE: Biden's strong showing in key swing states like Arizona, Florida, and Texas, current coronavirus hot spots, is due in part to the President's handling of the pandemic. And the Biden campaign is now planning to run TV ads in those states.
BIDEN (via campaign ad): This virus is tough but Texas is tougher. We can stop the spread, but it's up to all of us to do it. I will not abandon you. We’re all in this together.
“But the commercials make no mention to have the President, just of have the crisis,” O’Keefe lamented as he signed off.
The network was still covering up Biden’s lie about 120 million Americans dying from the virus
CBS’s cover-up and campaigning were made possible with sponsorships from Chase and Tide. Their contact information is linked.
