Although "we now know" that a Barack Obama political appointee "asked for reports to be delivered to him personally" regarding IRS approvals of 501(c)(3) applications, the liberal media continue to censor the IRS scandal story from their airwaves, NewsBusters publisher and Media Research Center president Brent Bozell told Fox Business Network's Stuart Varney on the Varney & Co. program on Friday. "How can this not be covered?!" Bozell pleaded.
"You are demanding that it be covered," Varney noted, referring to a July 25 statement by Bozell, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, and three other prominent conservatives. "They've got to cover it! If this were Richard Nixon, they'd be having impeachment hearings by now," Bozell replied. What's more, Bozell noted, the media were uncritically accepting of President Obama's cavalier dismissal of "phony scandals" that have cropped up on his watch (watch the full segment below the page break):
How could they not call out the president when he calls phony scandals? Is Brian Terry's death [in the] Fast & Furious [debacle] a phony scandal? The death of four men in Benghazi? Is that a phony scandal? Are these phony? How dare they let this man off the hook by doing this?
So, yeah, there's got to be a call. They've got to be called out on this. And the public has to start saying, "We're turning off the TV sets, we're not watching these networks. We're going to Fox or we're going to the Internet."
This is not news. These people are completely, they're mouthpieces for this administration. Nothing else.
