On Wednesday night, MSNBC’s: The Briefing With Jen Psaki, had some absolutely egregious takes. Psaki used a Rolling Stone article to claim that President Trump had been making most foreign policy decisions on Iran based off of what he saw on Fox News. Yes, according to MSNBC, the president of the United States, a country with the strongest intelligence agency known to mankind and a team of handpicked experts at his fingertips, got his foreign policy decisions from cable news…
Psaki had this to say about her conspiracy theory:
And Rolling Stone, and man this is a doozy of a headline, “Fox News Is Demanding War With Iran, Donald Trump Is Listening.” And yeah, I’m gonna get to that last one in a moment because the story of how Trump got here, and yes Fox News has played a part no kidding. No surprise. It does tell us a lot about how insecure and easy to manipulate this man is, which we all know, but it’s just a reminder.
Rolling Stone, with article titles like; “‘Men Always Win’: Survivors ‘Sickened’ by the Amber Heard Verdict” and ‘Sound Of Freedom’ Is a Superhero Movie for Dads With Brainworms,” was definitely the first pick of an “anonymous administration official” to give this story. The Rolling Stone piece was brought to you by such illustrious sources as “anonymous” while using a ‘trust us’ strategy.
Psaki called Trump “easy to manipulate,” while falling for a clickbait article all too reminiscent of The Atlantic article that compared Trump to Hitler off the back of an eerily similar anonymous administration source.
Psaki ended by saying this:
And Fox's drumbeat to war is apparently working. I mean, Rolling Stone reported late today that, according to an administration official on another close associate of the Commander-in-Chief, Trump’s heavy consumption of Fox News content is increasing his appetite for direct military confrontation with Iran.
Just let that sink in for a second, the president of the United States was refusing to believe the assessments of the entire intelligence community, and instead was listening to whatever talking heads on Fox had to say about this conflict. And those hot takes of the day could have already determined, maybe they have, whether or not the U.S. goes to war.
According to Psaki, Trump was just sitting around watching Fox News, then calling up world leaders to make decisions when he saw something interesting! She then said that Fox News's hot takes (not hot, just politically different from MSNBC) “could have already determined, maybe they have, whether or not the U.S. goes to war.”
Unfortunately for Psaki, her hatred towards MSNBC’s more successful cable competitor didn’t just make everything she’s said magically become true.
It’s also important to note that while Psaki had been very adamant about the shortcomings of the Trump administration in regards to Iran, under her leadership at the Obama State Department, they doctored video to hide a deal with Iran from the American public. That made it very ironic when she criticized Trump for not informing the American people of ongoing and important foreign policy decisions.

PSAKI: So, how did we go from there to a guy who was openly musing repeatedly about bombing Iran? Well, according to new reporting, this is basically the case of a weak and insecure Trump being manipulated by a number of predictable sources, some of them foreign leaders and some of them, yes, television networks. Yes, we are coming back to Fox News.

PSAKI: So, Netanyahu is betting that the United States will finish the job that he started. That’s where we are now, and that effort seems to have gotten a big assist from the President’s TV network of choice. As The Times also reports, when Trump woke up Friday morning his favorite TV channel, Fox News, was broadcasting wall-to-wall imagery of what it was portraying as Israel’s military genius. And Trump could not resist claiming some credit for himself.

PSAKI: “I hope so.” I hope the president of the United States has decided to take military action against Iran, not in defense, but just proactively along with Israel, I hope so, that's what he had to say, Hugh Hewitt.
And Fox's drumbeat to war is apparently working.
