Once again the liberals on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" threw a pity party for President Obama in the face of conservative criticism of his foreign policy. Never mind that President Bush faced withering criticism from all sides during his tenure in office, and the media felt no pathos for him.
During the 7 a.m. EDT hour, "Morning Joe" featured an audio clip from Republican leader Haley Barbour condemning Obama's leadership on the world stage. The Mississippi governor and possible presidential candidate ripped Obama's lack of charisma and described his strategy as "to say, you know, 'We're just one of the boys. We're not gonna try to be the leader'."
"Can't do anything right, can he?" co-host Mika Brzezinski complained of critics' treatment of President Obama. "It's like being a mom," she added. "Can't do anything right. I have four 12 year-olds in here. They're all over the place, they're running the place, and I can't do anything right."
Liberal columnist Mike Barnicle agreed with her. "The old hypocrisy meter," he said of Barbour's words. Then he made a strange noise to illustrate the fictional meter, "Creeeee-bang!"
A transcript of the segment, which aired on March 25 at 7:23 a.m. EDT, is as follows:
(Audio Clip)
Mississippi Gov. HALEY BARBOUR (R): Since World War II, the world has looked to America for leadership. But we haven't provided leadership in this administration. In fact, the Obama administration's position has been to say, you know, "We're just one of the boys. We're not gonna try to be the leader."

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Can't do anything right, can he? Really.
MIKE BARNICLE: No.
BRZEZINSKI: I mean seriously.
BARNICLE: No. The old hypocrisy meter. Creeeee-bang!
BRZEZINSKI: Yeah. Yep. I'm telling you. It's like being a mom. It really is. Can't do anything right. I have four 12 year-olds in here. They're all over the place, they're running the place, and I can't do anything right.
