On Thursday's CNN This Morning, Mark McKinnon offered a snide suggestion about President Trump’s sexuality.

Commenting on Trump’s habit of sizing up male physiques, McKinnon said:

“Check Truth Social just to make sure he doesn’t have a Grindr account.”

Host Audie Cornish responded with a shocked laugh.

The Grindr app has long been associated with casual sexual encounters among gay and bisexual men. Suggesting that Trump might maintain an account there is an explicit orientation-based implication.

McKinnon’s leftward drift has been on open display. NewsBuster Alex Christy caught McKinnon saying on MS NOW that the Texas Senate race between James Talarico and Ken Paxton pits "good versus evil.” Subtle!

The Grindr remark comes amid a broader pattern of lurid innuendo in the liberal media. Morning Joe has devoted at least two segments to innuendo over Trump’s discussion of the male physique. First here. And then on Wednesday, Willie Geist said:

"A lot of people seem to think it's pretty obvious what's going on, but we'll leave it to that. I think people should just be honest and authentic, and I think that's a beautiful thing when that happens, and, I don't know, maybe the president's telling us something.”

Responding to Geist's insinuation, Mika Brzezinski went the full Seinfeld: "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

Meanwhile, Cenk Uygur’s Young Turks has released a documentary alleging that the late Sen. Lindsey Graham paid male escorts, including one who was underage. If Uygur thinks his scoop of the century will tilt the South Carolina senatorial race toward the Democrat, my two cents say that, if anything, the posthumous alleged outing of a well-liked senator is more likely to boomerang.

Two networks and one progressive host, all treating speculation about gay orientation as fair game when the target is a Republican rather than one of their own.

Liberals have long celebrated LGBT identity and condemned speculation about private lives. The current coverage raises a straightforward question: when did they start trafficking in this kind of innuendo?
