Looks like Covid isn't the only thing that's contagious. After prolonged exposure to Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski has taken to parroting his hateful attacks against Ron DeSantis, that of endlessly repeating a phrase for what he presumably imagines is political effect. We've witnessed multiple examples of poor Joe's tic, as here, here, and here.
With Joe away, Mika jumped on his repetition hobby horse on today's Morning Joe. Her phrase: "death cult." In the opening segment, Mika used "death cult" no fewer than eight times to hammer DeSantis, Florida, and others over the Covid vaccine. In her melodramatic spiel, Mika veered from haranguing her audience to choking up.
She seethed, "And in Florida, we have a governor more interested in playing politics than saving lives: the DeSantis Variant. That's why nearly one-in-four new Covid cases are coming out of FLOR-I-DA!"
At one point, Mika ranted, "People are just completely poisoned by the Trump death cult," despite Trump having urged people to get vaccinated, saying it's safe and effective. Here's more of Brzezinski's repetition:
Now, these same, ghoulish, death cult figures are fighting vaccines . . . . We are flooded every day with sad stories of Americans who believe the lies fed to them by death cults!... Almost all of these hospitalizations deaths would of, and could of, been been avoided if misguided Americans had not followed the crazed teachings of a growing death cult.
Death cult? Here’s DeSantis recently on getting vaccinated:
If you look at the people that are being admitted to hospitals …. over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all.... These vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality.
It's simply false to claim that, because the governor isn't in love with four-year-olds being forced to wear a mask all day, he's somehow a death cult-loving anti-vaxxer.
