Keep hope alive? Okay, yeah, the Mueller investigation looks like a bust, and won't produce any more indictments. But hey: there are still lots of other investigations out there! The dream continues.
That was the theme of Joy Reid's MSNBC show this morning. Check out the mashup we've created, and you'll soon get the idea. From congressional investigations, to the Southern District of New York, it's investigations a go-go!
The number of pending investigations was variously given as 16, 17, and even [facetiously, we presume] 47, according to David Corn! Reid reminded, "There are other Trump-related investigations still open in other parts of the Justice Department. Namely, in the Southern District of New York. Not to mention, investigations by House committees, which are now controlled by Democrats."
It would be a mistake to flatly assume that nothing of significance will emerge from the other investigations. But liberals in the media and in office had clearly put most of their chips on Mueller. Now that his investigation has apparently failed to produce the desired results, the left is desperately searching for something else in its quest to destroy Donald Trump.

JOY REID: And now let's look at all the other investigations that are still out there. There are 17 of them, Robert Mueller's was just one of them! There's one into Wikileaks, there's Middle Eastern influence, there's Paul Manafort stuff, there's Trump Tower: it's on and on and on—it's 17 investigations.. . .
MEHDI HASAN: And we know of course that the Democrats in Congress are doing their own investigation.

DAVID CORN: There are 47 different investigations out there.

HASAN: The Trump inauguration commitee is being investigated.
. . .
REID: There are other Trump-related investigations still open in other parts of the Justice Department. Namely, in the Southern District of New York. Not to mention, investigations by House committees, which are now controlled by Democrats.

REID: Sixteen other investigations happening, so I think it's important that we just keep paying attention to it.

JULIAN CASTRO: This is not the only investigation that is going forward. The House Intelligence Committee, the Judiciary Committee continue their investigations. The Southern District of New York continues its investigation.

HASAN: For them that's a win, right? At the very basic level, no one's being indicted by Mueller called Trump or Kushner on the basis of the investigative report. But of course there are several other investigations still going on.
