Looks like CNN's New Day hosts are in fierce competition to see who can be more sneeringly insulting to the Trumps.
As we noted, John Berman yesterday suggested that President Trump is "full of 'schiff.'"Today, it was Alisyn Camerota's turn. Reacting to the news that Ivanka Trump used personal email, Camerota turned to former Trump aide Marc Short and snidely asked:
"Marc, at Trump rallies, they chant 'lock her up, lock her up.' Who are they referring to? Hillary, or Ivanka?"
Camerota's mere words don't do justice to the degree to which she dripped with sarcasm while trying to put a former Trump official on the spot. Check out the video clip to catch Camerota at her nastiest.
As we asked yesterday about Berman, does Camerota see herself as a news host? Or is she indistinguishable from the legion of liberal opinionators doing their daily best to tear down Trump?
JOHN BERMAN: A huge development overnight at the White House, we learned that Ivanka Trump was using her personal e-mail for government business.
. . .
ALISYN CAMEROTA: Marc, at Trump rallies they chant lock her up, lock her up. Who are they referring to? Hillary, or Ivanka?
Short answered that "it's hypocritical and certainly it looks bad and I'm sure that the media will have a field day with it today." He also tried to note the difference, that Hillary sent classified material and installed a private server in her home.
Berman claimed dramatically we spent "more than a year of our lives" on Hillary's emails, and former Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart insisted the media coverage was "way overblown."
