Bitter Mika Wanted Susan Page to Shut Down Pence, ‘Cut His Mic’

October 8th, 2020 12:11 PM

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe Thursday, co-host and Democratic Party shill Mika Brzezinski was outraged that Vice President Mike Pence “kept going” and “was not stopped” during Wednesday night’s vice presidential debate. Talking to the debate’s moderator, USA Today Washington bureau chief Susan Page, Brzezinki wailed that her media colleague did not “cut his mic” during the match-up with left-wing Senator Kamala Harris.

Early on the show, Brzezinski proclaimed that she thought Page did a “fabulous” job, but had one complaint: “I was frustrated when Mike Pence kept going and he was not stopped....I was surprised she wasn’t able to cut his audio or stop him in a more fervent way.” The anchor promised that she would press Page on the issue: “I’m going to ask her about what the sort of the technicalities of that was coming up.”

When Page came on in the 8:30 a.m. ET half hour, Brzezinski demanded to know why Pence wasn’t censored:

I was frustrated when Mike Pence kept going when you tried to wrap him. And I know that there were discussions after the first debate to kind of keep the candidates under control, keep the over-talk under control. Were you not given the technical ability to cut his mic?

Page replied and seemed to have no interest in having the power to silence candidates: “I did not have the technical ability to cut his mic, and I’m not sure how that would have worked if I’d had it.”

In addition, the moderator pointed out that both Harris and Pence had plenty of time to get their points across: “...to try to control the time so that each candidate got about equal amounts of time. That worked out pretty well in the wash, they had almost exactly the same amount of time to talk.”

Brzezinski’s whining came after the leftist media lost their minds following the first presidential debate and started actively lobbying the Commission on Presidential Debates to start cutting off candidate microphones.

The Morning Joe host’s ranting was brought to viewers by Skechers and Safelite. You can fight back by letting the advertisers know what you think of them sponsoring such content.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: We’re going to be having Susan Page on the show this morning. I thought she was fabulous. I was frustrated when Mike Pence kept going and he was not stopped. When we had this problem with the last debate, when Trump just rolled over everybody and took over the debate and made it into a circus. I was surprised she wasn’t able to cut his audio or stop him in a more fervent way. I’m going to ask her about what the sort of the technicalities of that was coming up.

BRZEZINSKI: Last night, wanted to know what your takeaway was, how you felt the candidates fared. And also, I was frustrated when Mike Pence kept going when you tried to wrap him. And I know that there were discussions after the first debate to kind of keep the candidates under control, keep the over-talk under control. Were you not given the technical ability to cut his mic?

SUSAN PAGE: I did not have the technical ability to cut his mic, and I’m not sure how that would have worked if I’d had it. It was sometimes frustrating. Two things were frustrating, one is to try to control the time so that each candidate got about equal amounts of time. That worked out pretty well in the wash, they had almost exactly the same amount of time to talk. The other thing that was frustrating to me was to pose a narrow question. I tried to ask narrow questions to make them harder to avoid, and both candidates, especially Vice President Pence ignored the question and answered the question they wished I had asked.
