The unhinged conspiracy theory that the Democratic Party wanted pushed to voters on Monday was that the Trump administration was trying to destroy the U.S. Postal Service in order “sabotage” the November election. Therefore, that was the story hyped on all three network morning shows. The campaign collusion between the press and the DNC isn’t hidden, so-called “journalists” have no shame about being puppets of the left.
When Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer say “jump,” the media ask, “how high?” That fact was clearly evident as co-host Savannah Guthrie opened NBC’s Today show by declaring: “In an emergency move, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls lawmakers back to Capitol Hill to deal with Post Office cutbacks and delays, accusing the President of trying to sabotage the election.”
Introducing the propaganda a few minutes later, Guthrie proclaimed that the number one issue for Democrats was suddenly the number one campaign issue as well: “But we’ll begin our coverage with the issue that is now hanging over the entire race – a Postal Service crisis that threatens to impact mail-in voting.” Funny how that works.
DNC stenographer Peter Alexander dutifully delivered the party line:
Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat could do it. But now those operational changes implemented by the Trump-appointed postmaster general have slowed down mail delivery and the fight over the Postal Service is escalating. Several states, including key battlegrounds like Michigan, are considering taking legal action. And House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now calling members back to Washington, likely this Saturday, aides tell NBC News, insisting Americans should not have to choose between their health and their vote....In a letter to Democrats, Pelosi accuses President Trump of a “campaign to sabotage the election by manipulating the postal service to disenfranchise voters.”
Leading off ABC’s Good Morning America, co-host George Stephanopoulos had no problem returning to his role as professional Democratic Party hack as he announced a “Postal Service Showdown” in which Pelosi and her partisan minions were accusing the Trump administration “of trying to silence millions of voters.”
Teeing up the story minutes later, he repeated the unfounded assertion that cost-cutting measures at the insolvent Post Office were designed to “effectively deny some people the right to vote.” Correspondent Terry Moran then eagerly piled on: “Speaker Pelosi taking that dramatic action, declaring, ‘Lives, livelihoods and the life of our American democracy are under threat.’”
He went on to fear monger: “Experts are now warning that the degrading standards of the Postal Service are already slowing down deliveries of mail, medical prescriptions, and paychecks....And the changes could be catastrophic for the November election.”
At the top of CBS This Morning, co-host and Democratic Party donor Gayle King made sure to recite the talking points: “Postal Showdown. Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls the House back for a vote on service cuts to the Postal Service ahead of this election.” As the segment began moments later, she sounded the alarm:
We’re gonna begin this morning with this, rising tensions in the political fight over the U.S. Postal Service and efforts to ensure a fair and safe election during this pandemic. U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s home was the target of protesters over the weekend, who accuse him of undermining the service in order to suppress the votes. Now, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling lawmakers back from vacation to vote on a bill to stop any more changes to the service before the election.
Fellow co-host Tony Dokoupil then asserted that “trust may already be damaged” in the Postal Service.
Incredibly, USA TODAY actually conducted a legitimate fact-check of wild Democratic claims about the Post Office and found their conspiracy theories to be “partly false.” The paper pointed out that “it is false to say mail is intentionally being slowed....The Trump administration said the president did not direct USPS to slow down its deliveries, and USA TODAY found no evidence of that claim being true either.”
And yet, NBC, ABC, and CBS couldn’t bother to provide those facts to viewers Monday morning. Instead, the networks blithely pushed Pelosi’s false accusations.
The Pelosi propaganda was brought to NBC viewers by Clorox, to ABC viewers by Target, and to CBS viewers by Safelite. You can fight back by letting these advertisers know what you think of them sponsoring such content.

The Postal Service even warning dozens of states, including key battlegrounds, “that ballots requested near the deadline will not be returned by mail in time to be counted.” Demonstrators protesting outside DeJoy’s D.C. home this past weekend as Democrats demand he testify in an urgent hearing one week from today.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: We’re gonna turn now to the escalating showdown over the Post Office and mail-in voting. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has cut short the August recess, called the House back into emergency session to confront the Postmaster General over cutbacks in service which could disrupt the delivery of mail-in ballots and effectively deny some people the right to vote. Terry Moran is in Washington with the latest. Good morning, Terry.
TERRY MORAN: Good morning, George. Well, across the country, state election officials, Republicans and Democrats, are sounding the alarm about what’s happening at the Postal Service and how the changes there could impact the nearly 80 million Americans who are expected to cast their ballots by mail. Speaker Pelosi taking that dramatic action, declaring, “Lives, livelihoods and the life of our American democracy are under threat.”
[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: Postal Service Showdown; Pelosi Calls Emergency House Session Over Growing Election Concerns]
This morning, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is taking the dramatic step of calling every member of the House back to Washington for a rare Saturday session this weekend to address the crisis in the U.S. Postal Service and growing questions about the November election. And Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a Trump ally and Republican megadonor, now finds himself in the hot seat, accused by Democrats of trying to silence millions of voters. Democrats are now calling for DeJoy to testify in an urgent hearing.
SEN. BERNIE SANDERS [I-VT]: We’ve got to do everything we can to get rid of this new postmaster general, who is clearly a campaign contributor to Trump, trying to undermine the Postal Service.
MORAN: DeJoy, who took office in June, has cut overtime and changed work rules, removing dozens of mail sorting machines, leading to reported delays and curtailed service, the agency calling these changes cost-cutting measures.
CELESTE WEITH [USPS CUSTOMER]: Now it takes, like, maybe a couple weeks to get something that used to take a day or two.
MORAN: Experts are now warning that the degrading standards of the Postal Service are already slowing down deliveries of mail, medical prescriptions, and paychecks. Jim Gaul says a reimbursement claim for his wife’s medication usually takes six days, but recently took two weeks.
JIM GAUL [USPS CUSTOMER]: We have to pay for her prescriptions and then file for reimbursement. $11,000 - 12,000 is a lot of money to have outstanding on a credit card.
MORAN: And the changes could be catastrophic for the November election.

TONY DOKOUPIL: And Louis DeJoy is a GOP megadonor. He is also an ally of President Trump’s, has been for a long time now. In a letter to postal workers though, he insisted that the Postal Service would maintain public trust during this election season. Of course, that trust may already be damaged.
Paula Reid is at the White House for us, following all of this. Paula, good morning. So what action is Congress looking to take with everyone coming back from vacation?
PAULA REID: Good morning, Tony. Well, Speaker Pelosi insists that these agency leaders must come before Congress to answer questions about these controversial changes. Now, some Republicans have defended these new policies, saying they’re necessary to address an inefficient agency that loses billions of dollars each year. But in addition to the potential impact on millions of voters, lawmakers say they’re also hearing about delays in the delivery of letters, paychecks, and even medicine.
