CNN ‘Republican’ on ‘The View’: Pro-Life Laws Are ‘Barbaric!’

October 13th, 2021 2:48 PM

There is literally no difference between a CNN “conservative” and a liberal Democrat. S.E. Cupp proved that today as she co-hosted The View and agreed with the staunchly liberal co-hosts on every topic discussed from abortion to Biden’s agenda.

Senator Elizabeth Warren [D-MA] was the guest, and Joy Behar started off complaining about moderate Democrats Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema “holding up” Biden’s massive spending bill. Behar absurdly blamed Biden’s plunging poll numbers on the two Democrats: “The clock is ticking and we're seeing Joe Biden's numbers falling because of this!” she whined. Sunny Hostin agreed, saying that Biden’s poll numbers were slipping with black women because he wasn’t doing enough for the progressive wing of the party.

CNN’s S.E. Cupp agreed with her co-hosts that Democrats needed to do more to appease the left. She admitted that she had voted for Biden so that he could preserve the Democrat agenda and stop Trump from being in office but fretted Democrats weren’t doing enough:

I voted for him to neutralize Trump once and for all and I'm worried that in this deal to move past Donald Trump and pretend he's gone, Democrats are ignoring the threat at our doorstep and democracy hangs in the balance as he spreads the big lie and spreads restrictive voting rights in Congress and in states all over the country, aren't you worried that he can still win in 2024 and do it all again?

As her co-hosts gasped, Cupp demanded of Warren, “Tell me what you're doing. Where are the prosecutions?!”

When the hosts continued ranted about the GOP, Cupp vented, “They're still doing the criming. They’re still doing the stuff that got us into trouble in the first place and there’s no way to pull the reins!"

Later on, while discussing Texas’s fetal heartbeat law and other similar laws being passed at the state level, Cupp sounded just like Joy Behar, again.

Behar called the law a “horror.” She pleaded with Warren: “What's happening in Texas is horror, a near-total abortion ban and the Supreme Court is gearing up to hear arguments in Mississippi, that could overturn Roe V. Wade, can the Democrats do anything and what can they do?”

After Warren falsely stated that 70% of Americans wanted to keep Roe, Cupp chimed in.

I also believe that Roe V. Wade is settled law, if we don't have faith in our institutions like laws then it's complete chaos and anarchy. Even people on pro-life side who think these laws are barbaric and punishing to women!

Stopping abortions is “barbaric.” You can’t make this stuff up.

The View

10/13/21

JOY BEHAR: Democrats of which you are one, they're working night and day, night and day, to pass President Biden's build back better plan, which will do a lot for Americans, like child care, lowering drugs costs, fighting climate change, all the things we want and is widely supported by the American people, yet there are two senators --

WARREN: I've heard this.

BEHAR: Manchin and Sinema are holding it up, why, and what do they want besides cutting the cost and what are you going to do about it? The clock is ticking and we're seeing Joe Biden's numbers falling because of this!

SUNNY HOSTIN: Why won’t Manchin and Sinema sign on to it? Is it because of the cost?

SUNNY HOSTIN: You know, as Joy mentioned, President Biden's approval rating has tumbled I think it's around 38% now and polls show support is falling among black voters. Because it seems like when the cuts are happening, things that are happening are cuts to HBCU funding, student loan debt, the country gets a cold and the black people get the flu, there's no doubt that, you know, the president inherited a mess, that's true, but when Democrats haven't been able to protect voting rights, to pass police reform, immigration reform, do you understand why black Americans in particular are losing interest?

JOY BEHAR: The Democrats need to toot their own horn more, also, I'd like to see that more on television!

...

S.E. CUPP: Lot of women, in particular black women helped Biden get elected. So, more than his agenda, I voted for him to neutralize Trump once and for all and I'm worried that in this deal to move past Donald Trump and pretend he's gone, Democrats are ignoring the threat at our doorstep and democracy hangs in the balance as he spreads the big lie and spreads restrictive voting rights in Congress and in states all over the country, aren't you worried that he can still win in 2024 and do it all again?

BEHAR: Poo poo! Don't even say it!

CUPP: That's the problem. That's the problem. Don't even go there. It's real. Tell me what you're doing.

WARREN:It’s real. I get this.

CUPP: Where's the prosecutions?

WARREN: ...We must, must, must pass the laws to protect the vote. Every American citizen should have a right to vote. Well, this is must do. I'm there on child care. I'm totally there on climate, but we have to got to protect the vote. I agree. The right of American citizen to vote and can we add the other part? to get that vote counted to end gerrymandering and to beat back the influence of dark money.

[applause]

...

BEHAR: When you have people like Scalise saying it was the lie, it's the Republican party needs to step up and be honest.

CUPP: Look, you have any faith that the Republican party that's currently known is going to step up and be honest?

BEHAR: No.

CUPP: I don't either that's why I left. They're still doing the criming. They’re still doing the stuff that got us into trouble in the first place and there’s no way to pull the reins.

JOY BEHAR: Women all over the country are worried about that they will lose their right to choose and even though there's no chance I'll ever get pregnant, I'm worried too. What's happening in Texas is horror, a near-total abortion ban and the supreme court is gearing up to hear arguments in Mississippi, that could overturn Roe V. Wade, can the Democrats do anything and what can they do?

WARREN: Yes, we can. Keep in mind that about 70% of America, not 70% of Democrats, 70% of all Americans want the rule of Roe V. Wade to be the rule in this country, when 70% of America wants something to be the law its time for Congress to step up, pass it into the law and do the will of the people. That's how democracy works. [ Cheers and applause ]

CUPP: I also believe that Roe V. Wade is settled law, if we don't have faith in our institutions like laws then it's complete chaos and anarchy. Even people on pro-life side who think these laws are barbaric and punishing to women.

WARREN: And understand which women are going to be hit the hardest. If you can't make the decision about your own body, look, rich women in Texas will still fly to New York or Massachusetts or California, they will be able to make their own decisions. But a woman working three jobs, a 14-year-old who has been molested by her uncle, someone who is just up against the wall as a student who finds out she's pregnant and says I can’t go forward with this, those are the women --

CUPP: Then she's going to be arrested by her neighbor on top of it!
