In Love: Morning Shows Push Progressive Poet for President, Taking Advice From Pelosi

The media are getting “chills” again from inaugural youth poet Amanda Gorman and they're ready to run her future presidential campaign. She appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning for gooey interviews Monday, praising her progressive activism and pushing a future career in politics.

On CBS, co-anchor Gayle King couldn’t contain her excitement, relaying how Gorman “captivated the nation” and “gave us hope.” Her inaugural poem, “still gives me goosebumps!” King admitted, before hawking her new book of poetry.

After a video montage highlighted Gorman’s work with Black Lives Matter, King praised, “We're very happy here at CBS, we are not late to the Amanda Gorman party. But do you feel like you've been shot out of a rocket, and what was it -- the message you wanted the country to get that day?”

The chyron on screen wasn’t any less dramatic, reading, “Amanda Gorman’s Power.”

After talking about her upbringing and overcoming a speech impediment, King hoped Gorman would run for president:

KING: Well, listen, I can't wait today what happens in 2036. Tony pointed this out -- on the back of your book, there are you in front of the presidential seal. I'm thinking one of these days, you will be standing behind the presidential seal, and you'll be Madam President. You're still planning that, are you not?

GORMAN: Oh, 100%.

Gorman also got the royal treatment on Good Morning America today. Co-host Robin Roberts un-ironically raved over Gorman being a role model to young kids (despite the young poet performing a viral pro-abortion screed in 2019.) Like King, Roberts hyped a presidential run in the 23-year-old’s future:

“You know what? Who knows? Who knows what is going to be next for you? You have said, you know, on down the road maybe a run for President of the United States,” she touted.

And who did Gorman get her political advice from? Nancy Pelosi. Roberts and Gorman were enthusiastic about the Democrat leader’s words of wisdom:

ROBERTS: Would you share what she shared with you, what she said to you?

GORMAN: Oh, absolutely. She is such a rock star, and she said to me, you know, Amanda, this is what I tell all female leaders who ask for my advice. I say, start with a feather even if you end up using a hammer--

ROBERTS: Woohoo!

GORMAN:--and I loved that. This is a woman who understands the full gamut of her power and how to begin at "A" and end at "B", and that was a great lesson.

On a side note, Both King and Roberts were such big fans they both admitted they wore yellow to match Gorman’s “signature color.”

ROBIN ROBERTS: You know what? Who knows? Who knows what is going to be next for you? You have said, you know, on down the road maybe a run for President of the United States. You were recently at an event. Nancy Pelosi. Would you share what she shared with you, what she said to you?

AMANDA GORMAN: Oh, absolutely. She is such a rock star, and she said to me, you know, Amanda, this is what I tell all female leaders who ask for my advice. I say, start with a feather even if you end up using a hammer--

ROBERTS: Mmhmm and you taught us a lesson. We are a light, if only we are brave enough to see it, if only we are brave enough to be it. You are a light this morning. Thank you.
