The women at the View are constantly bashing Donald Trump for what he says but seem to have no filter on what comes out of their own mouths. On Tuesday’s show, the panel complained about House Republicans looking to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics and House Speaker Paul Ryan seemingly going along with it. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg then made a suggestive comment about Ryan and his relationship to the GOP.
The conversation started off by discussing the House Republicans' vote, a decision which they have subsequently squashed after backlash. The panel mentioned how disappointed they were in Paul Ryan for not standing up to the Republicans who voted for this.
BILA: [T]he fact that Republicans see- it bothers me that Republicans see this as their chief issue. Let's remove an independent investigative committee. Well, you know what? People didn't vote for Donald Trump because of that, they believed potentially in his tax policy or he was going to create jobs. Get your priorities straight and show us that you really care about what's important. This just shows us that in some ways your priorities aren’t straight and you may be wanting to hinder a proper investigation. That doesn’t give an independent like me--
BEHAR: Doesn’t it give you suspicions about them? What do they have to hide?
BILA: It gives me suspicions about their priorities.
BEHAR: They need a whistleblower within the Congress--
BILA: What they need is Republicans to stand up to this.
HOSTIN: Yes.
BEHAR: All right.
WHOOPI: It’s very hard to stand up when you're spending time on your knees.
[sounds of agreement]
In the next segment, the panel talked about Trump 'teasing' that he would reveal what he knows about Russia hacking the election in the upcoming days. Joy Behar quipped:
BEHAR: You know, it reminds me, he's always teasing. He's got secret information. He's always teasing. Like the guy who promises to bring you the orgasm but never does. [ Laughter ]
