First lady Michelle Obama will be starring in an upcoming episode of the CBS police procedural show NCIS, continuing her apparent goal of becoming a television actress after she leaves the White House.
In the episode, airing May 3, she will be playing herself (albeit in a fictional plotline) welcoming characters from the show and actual military spouses to a roundtable at the White House.
The episode is part of an initiative she started with Jill Biden called “Joining Forces” which aims to “build and strengthen support for military service members, veterans and military families,” according to CNN.
That certainly sounds like a noble goal but this isn’t the first, or presumably the last, cameo of Obama on a primetime show.
According to a 2015 study by MRC Culture, she has appeared on television over 100 times on sitcoms, reality shows, talk shows, and television movies.
One of her more memorable guest spots was on NBC’s Parks and Recreation where she made character Leslie Knope star-struck:
When even liberal, feminist website Jezebel snarks that the First Lady is “a solidly working actor at this point,” you know it’s gotten out-of-hand.
