Networks Ignore Biden Comparing Hawaii Fires to His Small Kitchen Fire

August 22nd, 2023 8:15 PM

On Monday evening, President Joe Biden made comments during a trip to Hawaii to view the devastation from the Maui wildfires which caused an uproar throughout the country and deeply offended the victims who lost their homes in the fires. During a speech in Lahaina, Hawaii, Biden compared the deadly and destructive wildfires to a small fire in his home kitchen that occurred 15 years ago. Considering the media absurdly accused then-President George W. Bush of racism for not reacting fast enough to Hurricane Katrina, you would think the evening news networks would at least briefly report on Biden's offensive comments. Sadly, all three networks ignored Biden's insensitive comparison.

Instead, ABC's World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News decided a bear attack in New York State (ABC & CBS), and a segment suggesting “climate change” was to blame for a Malaria outbreak in the U.S. (NBC) were more important stories.

The comments being blasted online and by Hawaii residents came when Biden tried to relate to the victims who lost everything. “I was in Washington doing Meet the Press. It was a sunny Sunday and lightning struck at home on a little lake that’s outside of our home, not a lake, a big pond,” Biden muttered. “And hit a wire and came up underneath our home into the heating ducts, air conditioning ducts. To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my '67 Corvette, and my cat.”

In reality, “A 2004 report from the Associated Press, archived by LexisNexis, however, said lighting struck the home, starting a ‘small fire that was contained to the kitchen,’” Fox News Digital reported

So, this was not only insensitive, but Biden also lied to the victims.

Just imagine if former Presidents Donald Trump or George W. Bush had said this. You would never hear the end of it.

This bias by omission from the three networks was made possible by Cadillac on ABC, Liberty Mutual on CBS, and Allstate on NBC. Their information is linked.

JOE BIDEN: Now, 15 years, I was in Washington doing Meet the Press. It was a sunny Sunday and lightning struck at home on a little lake that’s outside of our home, not a lake, a big pond. And hit a wire and came up underneath our home into the heating ducts, air conditioning ducts. To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my '67 Corvette, and my cat.
