On Thursday, CBS Evening News wasted precious airtime running a sitdown interview with former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on her opinions over the recent leak of the Supreme Court’s draft decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
Anchor Norah O’Donnell hyped the interview by breathlessly announcing it was “her first interview since that leaked draft opinion,” and announced how Clinton warned the “consequences of overturning Roe v. Wade would go beyond abortion rights.”
Once O’Donnell cut to the previously recorded interview, viewers were forced to suffer through Clinton's shrieking about how wanting to protect the lives of the unborn is “about controlling women” and “turning the clock back on half the population of our country.”
O’Donnell didn’t push back, instead, she asked Clinton if in light of the fact that during the 2016 election “Donald Trump made it clear he would nominate justices who would overturn Roe versus Wade, did you imagine it [Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade] would happen this quickly?”
Clinton insisted she “warned about it in the campaign” and “could see that the man I was running against would literally do anything to get the votes of the extreme faction of the Republican Party who were willing to totally upend precedent and deny women their rights.”
Despite her warning, she admitted “it's hard to warn in the abstract” because people didn’t believe the Supreme Court would be willing to overturn Roe.
Clinton returned to her infamous shrill angry screaming that makes her so unlikable:
This opinion is dark. It is incredibly dangerous, and it is not just about a woman's right to choose. It is about much more than that. And I hope people now are fully aware of what we're up against. Because the only answer is at the ballot box to elect people who will stand up for every American's rights.
There was no pushback from O’Donnell, who just sat there and nodded her head while listening to Clinton rant incoherently like a homeless person.
Clinton ended by warning that if the Supreme Court does indeed overturn Roe v. Wade, it won’t end with abortion, she claimed “any American who says, ‘look, I'm not a woman. This doesn’t affect me. I'm not black that doesn't affect me. I'm not gay, that doesn't affect me.’ Once you allow this kind of extreme power to take hold, you have no idea who they will come for next.”
This interview surely reminded voters why she lost to former President Trump in one of the most stunning upsets in American presidential history and almost lost the Democratic nomination to a seventy-four-year-old socialist from Vermont. Her own party can’t even stand her. Norah O’Donnell isn’t much better for enabling Hillary’s insane ramblings.
