The Elitist Media evening news continue their mission on trade, acting as spokespeople for the Canadian prime minister instead of reporting the full scope of US-Canada relations that led to the breakdown at the negotiating table. Over the weekend and through today, an alarming omission emerges.
It appears that the media insist on glossing over the influence that China may have over Canada. In this case, we are only finding out about a high-level security meeting because China disclosed it. Per the Toronto Star:
As the Carney government pursues deeper relations with Beijing, the Chinese government reports it held a “candid” exchange on military issues with Canadian officials earlier this month.
The meeting - which Beijing said took place in Canada on Sept. 4 - followed years of diplomatic strain and is raising concerns among Conservatives, who reject the idea of military co-operation with China.
China’s defence ministry revealed the two countries held their fifth defence co-ordination dialogue last week. Canada’s Defence Department confirmed that report days later.
It's worth noting that the countries’ military meetings were suspended in 2018 after the Trudeau administration arrested Huawei’s CEO. Their resumption at this particular juncture seems highly questionable.
Even more questionable is the Elitist Media’s refusal to so much as mention China- whether it’s the military meeting or Canada’s insistence on laundering dumped Chinese steel as their own, which sunk the trade negotiations to begin with.
ABC World News Tonight addressed Canada only within the context of the retaliatory tariffs imposed by Canada. Rachel Scott being Rachel Scott, she made sure to close by quoting Prime Minister Mark Carney.

What’s remarkable about ABC’s Canada reporting, tacked on at the end of their White House roundup, is that there isn’t even a mention of President Trump’s proposed ban against Bombardier aircraft- let alone China. The reporting was narrowly focused on the Canadian point of view, as is normally the case on the most Trump-deranged of the Elite Media broadcast networks.
CBS’s Canada reporting on the Evening News was slightly better. There was at least a mention of Bombardier, but still no mention of China.

TONY DOKOUPIL: Canadian tariffs took effect today and about $20 billion of U.S. goods, the latest escalation in a trade war with no clear end. Here's our Chief White House Correspondent, Nancy Cordes.
NANCY CORDES: Canada made good on its threat today, imposing hefty new tariffs on U.S. dairy, steel, aluminum and appliances after trade talks broke down last month.
MARK CARNEY: We can't let American goods into Canada tariff free, while they charge our companies to export them.
CORDES: The tariffs apply to just a slice of U.S. goods. But the risk is a spiral of retaliation, reminiscent of president trump's trade war with China last year.
DONALD TRUMP: Canada has taken advantage of the U.S., they have ripped us off for years and now we are turning the tables.
CORDES: At Detroit Axle in Michigan, the CEO says the cross-border tit-for-tat is already driving up his costs.
MIKE MUSEINESH: I've imported a million dollars worth of product, once upon a time we paid the government $25,000 in tariffs. Now it went up to $725,000 in tariffs. Overnight.
CORDES: Canada is America's second-largest trading partner and their economies are closely intertwined. On Sunday, Trump posted a cartoon image of himself checking Canada's prime minister with a hockey stick. And he threatened to ban the sale of Canadian Bombardier business jets. Bombardier pointed out that the company works with 2800 U.S. suppliers and makes its wings in Texas, flight control components in California. It buys engines from Arizona and communications equipment from Iowa.
A Kansas Republican, Senator Jerry Moran, even reached out to The White House to make sure that Trump knows Bombardier supports more than 1000 jobs in Wichita. It's yet another sign, Tony, that Trump's party may not share his appetite for another trade war, especially in an election year.
DOKOUPIL: That is true, Nancy. Thank you very much.
NBC didn’t even bother with a report. Meanwhile, the public continues to get less than half the story of the ongoing trade dispute between the United States and Canada.
The Elitist Media are making sure that this continues to be the case, even if it means suppressing Canada’s military rapprochement with America’s main geostrategic rival.
