AUTOPEN OMISSION: Legacy Networks SILENT on Jill Biden’s Chief of Staff Pleading the 5th

July 16th, 2025 8:17 PM

The Autopen Scandal took an explosive turn today when Anthony Bernal, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden’s former Chief of Staff, refused to testify before the House Oversight Committee in a scheduled deposition. None of the legacy network evening newscasts found the time to include this story in their D.C. roundups.

Per Fox News

A top aide to former first lady Jill Biden refused to answer GOP investigators' questions on Wednesday as the House Oversight Committee probes whether senior ex-White House aides covered up signs of former President Joe Biden's mental decline.

Anthony Bernal, former assistant to the president and senior advisor to the first lady, was compelled for a July 16 closed-door deposition after missing a previously agreed-upon interview date late last month.

His scheduled sit-down came and went quickly, however. Bernal apparently pleaded the Fifth Amendment to the questions asked by House staffers, a source familiar told Fox News Digital.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., quickly confirmed Bernal invoked his right against self-incrimination in comments to reporters alongside committee member Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., who was also present.

Beyond the covering up of signs of Biden’s decline, the probe is looking at usurpation of presidential power via the use of the autopen in furtherance of a conspiracy to conceal Biden’s cognitive and physical decline. This is a significant public interest event that should have drawn coverage across the legacy dial.

The last Biden staffer to plead the 5th as part of the Autopen scandal investigation, White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor, drew a full report on NBC Nightly News amid omissions at ABC and CBC. But Bernal, presumably a much bigger fish within the conspiracy, drew crickets.

NBC was too preoccupied with Darth Vader’s sword going to auction. Additionally, the Llamas Nightly News had decided to focus on the Caitlin Clark beat.

ABC couldn’t spare time for Bernal because that would’ve detracted from the Obamas debunking divorce rumors, and taken away from scintillating Espys coverage.

CBS is, well, CBS and still going through multiple existential crises.

The legacy networks are doing their level best to hide the Biden Autopen Scandal from the American Public. In the process, they are demonstrating why the public has lost trust in network news media.
